February 26, 200917 yr #2,3 and 4 are glaringly obvious every single game. When Patterson gets triple-teamed (as he has on several occasions) then even the most beginning basketball player knows that means two people are open. Heck, I'd put all five men on him because it is never going to come back out!
February 26, 200917 yr I said it back last Spring what my biggest concerns were when I asked over/under 20 wins for UK: - Backcourt losses (i.e no PG play) - Stevenson adding strength I believe P. Stevenson has lost all confidence and is almost afraid to play. UK has one option down low and teams know this. I am still convinced I could block out Stevenson.
February 26, 200917 yr He's falling out of the 1st round a little more every game. NBA scouts know he isn't ready. Even at his peak in the season he was a late round 1st rounder. If he left after this year he could possibly go late 1st round, but you're right he has probably fallen a little in the last month.

The odds makers had this game as a pick so not all of the people that took UK were that dumb. They got whipped, it happens. The lesson people should take is that if they go against a really good PG then bet the farm against them.

I'm not sure why you are quoting a post where I am asking for someone to show me where I dissed anyone for picking UK in this game.

UKMustangFan asked a question about what led people to believe UK could beat South Carolina, and I followed that up with that is an excellent question, and that I believed people were picking with their hearts and not their heads. This is a discussion board. That is what we do here. I always give reasons as to why I feel UK will lose, but few people give reasons as to why they feel UK will win, other than they want UK to win. You are the one who better back it off a notch.

What we want is some intellegent debate on why people think UK will win certain games, when the talent level, coaching style and matchups certainly don't seem to be in UK's favor. Instead people get upset when we ask for people to give their reasons why they feel UK has a good shot at winning.
February 26, 200917 yr Those teams can shoot. You need a dominant PG to win big in the NCAA. We dont have one. SC has one and a veteran at that. Hustle and pride and everything else will not be enough. I agree with you here and I 100% agree with you about needing a very good (dominant as you stated) point guard:thumb:. I did not say that hustle, pride, etc. were all that a team needed to win. I said (or meant) that those things are imo essential to a winning team. Of course you need talent, that is a given but I have watched plenty of teams less talented than their opponets win by playing harder, with more passion and pride. My feelings are if a player does not have any pride in that uniform he is wearing or no passion for playing the game then he is not going to give it his all. Of course I want talent, alot of it, that is also essential for a winning team. What I am saying is I don't want a guy that plays with no pride, passion or hustle. Should that be the case with them then they just as well take up knitting
