What in the world are you talking about? I don't need to back anything off a notch. UKMustangFan asked a question about what led people to believe UK could beat South Carolina, and I followed that up with that is an excellent question, and that I believed people were picking with their hearts and not their heads. This is a discussion board. That is what we do here. I always give reasons as to why I feel UK will lose, but few people give reasons as to why they feel UK will win, other than they want UK to win. You are the one who better back it off a notch.

 

I believed they could win b/c the odds makers believed they could win. The Vegas casinos did not make it a pick believing UK would be blown out. This weekend when UK is -2 I believe they will win. The reasons are it is a must win and everyone and their brother will be taking LSU. So my belief is that the Vegas casinos were built on games like the LSU game coming up. I hope that the 70% of fans that you think will pick UK do.

What we want is some intellegent debate on why people think UK will win certain games, when the talent level, coaching style and matchups certainly don't seem to be in UK's favor. Instead people get upset when we ask for people to give their reasons why they feel UK has a good shot at winning.

There are tons of UK fans on here, which means UK will probably win the majority of the polls and prediction threads they are in. This certainly isn't something new is it? That doesn't mean it takes away from intelligent debate. If it did, then there would be far less members on here than there are.

The Questions that I had about the game included?

 

1. What has happened to the Perry Stevenson that played so well when Patterson was out last year?

2. Does the UK player whose man doubles on Patterson ever cut to the basket?

3. Why does Patterson not look to pass when he gets it down low(see #2)?

4. Why no backdoor cuts when they are overplaying the passing lanes?

5. Where is the heart and effort on the loose balls and backboard?

6. Are the UK players to meek to compete when the other team punches them in the mouth?

 

All are very good question and I especially would like to know the answers to #4, #5 and #6.

When UK not only wins, but covers the spread don't be shocked. Sure LSU could come in and hand them their lunch, but I'd say there is a better than 60% chance that UK covers. LSU will be a big time public play. Probably higher than 70%. I think the odds makers are better at predicting than us, and they will predict a UK win. I could be way off, but I follow spreads closer than most people.

There were a lot of reasons given in the prediction thread by posters. Most of them are if UK can _________ then they will win. Nobody knows when this team is going to show up or not, but I go in to every game hoping they have put it all together.

What is UK's record? If people picked UK to win every game this year they would be right more than wrong. I understand where you're coming from. I didn't even pick the last game that I know of, but it did come off as a tad demeaning when you said 70% would pick them this weekend. I'll take them this weekend, but I would take the C's over them.

If they had last night's game as an even then they didn't know more than me. They set the odds based on what they feel people will bet. I think UK has a much better chance of winning the game at Rupp against LSU than they did last night's game in Columbia, but I'm certainly not going to feel better about UK's chances based on the odds in Vegas.
