February 20, 200917 yr What you giving up for Lent? It begins in just 6 days. I'm giving up BGP and Facebook. It will be difficult. I may try to give up TV as well. It should give me a chance to catch up on my reading and get my grades back up. What are you going to do? Anything special?
February 20, 200917 yr Author BGP AND Facebook? You are crazy. Maybe I'm becoming a hermit. Maybe it is because you ripped on my Spurs.:lol:
February 20, 200917 yr I won't give up BGP. It's too wonderful and, I submit, saintly. I like to both give up something and also do something I wouldn't otherwise do. I haven't thought of what I'll be giving up, but I plan to do what I did last year at this time and go to Mass every day.

Perhaps read the Bible daily, and hopefully it will turn into a daily exercise forever.
February 20, 200917 yr I wanted to come up with something challenging but attainable. So this year I decided to stop beating up crippled kids and tricking old ladies out of their pension checks. I think I can give these things up.
February 20, 200917 yr I want to do something extra as well. Perhaps read the Bible daily, and hopefully it will turn into a daily exercise forever. My promise to go to Mass daily last year was born out of the year before, when I decided to read to the scripture that was designated for Mass on that day. Taking time to not only read scripture but reflect on it is a strikingly rewarding experience.

Keep up the good work, chief... :thumb:

Let me tell you, it is a terrible time to give up BGP. Well, at least it was when I did. In recounting just UK hoop events from the time I signed off... - UK and Tubby parted ways - Tubby went to Minnesota - Florida won another title - Donovan's pilot told someone's aunt he was accepting the job - Donovan says no - People said Donovan's response was a cover-up and he really was accepting the job - HammerTime started the "Be careful what you wished for thread." - gametime was right... at least told everyone he was right about, well everything - 10 other names come out as a head coaching candidates - People still are waiting for Donovan out at the airport despite being on vacation celebrating his new Florida contract - Billy G. is hired - Patterson signs - I break out in to hives because I cannot read anything about it - Lent ends. Back on BGP with nothing to talk about. It really was March Madness and a good time to be on BGP. (Probably a good reason to give it up for Lent :thumb:)

February 20, 200917 yr For Baptist folk, Lent means you let someone borrow something, with the hopes that what you "lent" you eventually get back. (Money of course doesn't count)
