IF Elliott is fortunate enough to make it to Rupp along with the 15 other region representatives, they have a good shot at winning it. It won't be easy though. They'll likely have to beat Anderson Co in the first round, who was beating them at the half I believe and then forced OT with them. Second round they'll likely see Shelby Valley, who has already beaten them. Semi's, barring an upset, they'll see either Holmes or Scott Co, who in a lot of peoples' opinion, are the top two teams in the state. Then, IF they make it to the finals, they'd likely see another 7th region team. IF they can make it to the finals, I can see the cutting down the nets, as I really don't see anyone from the upper bracket beating them..

 

The one advantage I do see for EC is that they won't have to beat both Scott Co and Holmes to get to the finals.

Its just too early to be naming the teams that will be playing Rupp. There is no guarantee that Scott County, Holmes, Elliott, Shelby Valley and Anderson will even make it out of their districts. If I were predicting though, I would give Elliott and Shelby Valley the best odds of making it.

Elliott is definitely a state title contender, but I personally think if Holmes & Scott Co match up in Friday's quarterfinals, then the winner of this game will go on to win the state championship.

Elliott Co. has a very good team and obviously have a legit shot at winning it all. They have 4 very good players that is great to have.

I do agree though that EC ad SV have the best odds of making it because of the lack of competition in their regions.

I would not overlook East Carter Tuesday.

I know they are young men and shouldn't get tired, but with the late games on friday and the early semi's on Saturday, I think it will be the team that recovers the quickest and has a little help off the bench that will come to the top on Saturday night! A lot of teams don't go through this much, so are not used to the quick playing time turn around from Friday night to Saturday morning. Could take it's toll on some. Always fun to watch.

I don't think that East Carter has packed it in yet. :sssh: A first round district game at home could be a little tougher than most expect.:popcorn:

Your right; its going to be a tough game for Elliott playing East in the first round of the district on East's home floor. Though East did not have the season I thought they would have (They were picked #2 in the region) I still think they could be dangerous, and I am sure they will give everything they got to be able to beat Elliott. However I think Elliott has no problem playing in these high pressure games, and have been in this situation many times in the past, and in the end I think they will pull it out. Im always more nervous about the opening of the district, even more then the regional final. With that said, I think Elliott can beat any team in the state if they play their game. It will be a great tourny this year and I cant wait to see how Elliott stacks up against Scott or Holmes or whoever they play. (if they make it to the state which by all honesty they should)

Elliott has what it takes to win it all but there is an element of luck involved in winning any State Tournament. If a few breaks go their way they could be right there to win it all. That also applies to several other teams. Good luck against East. One game at a time. Thats the only way to do it.

Always said I would rather be lucky than good. But we all know Elliott is good, so if you throw a little luck their way, they will be raising the trophy on Saturday night.

I think so. Saw them play in the Beach Call Classic. The game they lost was because they couldn,t hit shots. Bench is also weak. Like the way they play.
