Plato Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Just saw this story on the news. The video doesn't look good, but it doesn't show what the kid did to cause the principal to go off and slam him to the ground. The report said the principal said when the details come out he will be cleared. Anyone know details?
oldrambler Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Here is a link to the story/video from WKYT (Lexington news) on this. Regardless of what the kid said to him this doesn't look good at all for the principal. JMO http://www.wkyt.com/home/headlines/39682987.html

woodsrider Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Oh wow the times have changed. Parents today are just lookin' for a chance to get on the news and make a little $$$$. So you don't think what he did was wrong? I don't care what the boy said or did. The principal should lose his job and spend some time reflecting in jail.

redsfan Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 If anyone has a friend or relative that works in the school they can understand the principals frustration. Some of the stories we hear about kids cursing the teachers only to be sent to the office and get punishment that does not even phase the kid. I am not saying the Principal was justified in slamming him to the ground but if this country would allow the bible and the belt back in schools much of this stuff would be stopped before it escalates to this level.

If he threatened to pull a weapon he should be slammed to the ground. If he was refusing to comply with the rules and regulations of the school or with the requests of the principal and was causing a scene then the principal may have some just cause.

I will agree that if he pulled a weapon then the princepal was within his rights to protect himself. If he threatened to pull a weapon I would not have a problem with the princepal restraining him but not to slam him twice. As far as refusing to comply with rules, give me a break. The kid deserves to be picked up and slammed because he would listen?

The principal tells him to get on the ground to be searched, he refuses and it escalates. He should be slammed. I'm just saying that the statement "I don't care what the kid did..." is an attitude that is widespread in society today and imo society is very very wrong.
