The boys were scrimmaging hard yesterday. The new camera is in use so Coach can review practices. Thanks to the Touchdown club for taking care of this request so quickly! There were 22 boys at practice yesterday. Kitchen has not attended for a week and a half. He was at school yesterday but did not come to practice.

There has been a rumor that Kitchen may be leaving GC, has anyone else heard this? I hate to see spring practice end,these boys have really been having alot of fun (Me too). Now it is time for the parents to get to work and get things ready for the season,so I hope to see everyone tonight at the Booster Meeting.:banana:

Now that Spring practice has come to close, I'll throw my 2cents in. I think having a sound base oriented style of play is just what the doctor ordered. I told this to Coach Copley and if you think about it, it does make sense. Any good team GC has had over the course of it's history has been a conservative hard running offense and a hard tackling defensive unit. I am not sure what 2009 will give in regards to wins and losses, but the effort will be there. If the parents and Administration will continue to support the new staff, we may be looking at the true turn around point of this program that many of us wondered may never happen. I am excited to see the transformation process begin.

Good luck to GC I hope you win every game on the schedule. District is always wide open as none of the teams are great, and it's about time you started beating that school down 23 because you are the bigger school and should beat them more often than not.

Now BigUgly, that's not nice to take a cheap shot at the Rams through an underhanded compliment to GC. You don't really think that's fair to wish a 4A luck in beating us just because you can't?:lol:

I think everyone at GC is excited about the transformation that is happening. The new equipment, new uniforms, bleachers, lights, fieldhouse, and repaired field are a testament to the BOE and administrations' commitment to move forward in supporting the Future of GC Football.

 

We have a very large committed group of parent boosters. (more showing up for meetings than ever before.) Coach Copley spoke at our booster meeting Tuesday night of the great improvements the boys made over their ten days of spring practice. His commitment to excelllence and his work on the basics was something Greenup really needed.

 

Thanks sidelinedoc for your support of GC (except for when we face the Rams, of course!!!!)

 

It looks to be an exciting future, regardless of the win loss column this year, GC will be a much improved team.

I was just wishing luck to all parties involved, I wasn't taking a shot at anyone. A 4A school should beat a 1A school more often, but good luck to the rebuilding effort at Greenup.
