OMG, I agree Coupon. The Band runs and keeps all the concession stand money. They contribute NOTHING to the general fund. Perhaps they can store the instruments in THEIR concession stand!!!!

Well, I guess its the bands turn to raise hell about the location of the new weight room. Nothing against the band, but this weight room will benefit every sport at the high school, boys and girls and even every PE students. IMO when the band starts bringing in as much money to our school district as the sports do, then they will have a right to complain about losing a storage room, where the instruments are kept.

I dont think you fully understand what the band will be losing. They will keep the band room. What they will lose is a storage room that they put the insruments in. That is it, They will lose a CLOSET that only benefits the band, for a weight room that all of GCHS can use.

money from the school, no general funds, no uniform money, no bus money, nothing.

So are you saying that they are going to put weights in a closet is that going to be big enough for all those boys in classes?

Why can't the weight room in the field house be cleaned up and fixed up and everyone could use that area also.

Doesn't the school pay for the band teacher? And as coupon stated, the weights are for the entire school, not just for football. I doubt when the Board approved this expense they realized that there would be such backlash from everyone else!

Practice was great yesterday. Though it seems we are weeding out the boys who really don't want to work. (only 33 at practice yesterday) This is a good thing, I would rather have a small committed team than a large team full of slackers anyday!!!

 

The coach is now having them wrestle for their spots. For example if two want to come out for the same position at practice and run the drills, they have to wrestle for it!!! He changes it up several times and gives several the opportunity. There will no longer be any complacency at Greenup!!!!!!
