If it is all worked out then where did they decide to put the new weight room? This has been the longest drawn out process I have ever seen. Who would have known that it would cause so much trouble for something nice to be added for the good of the WHOLE school.

This is good news, hopefully everyone can put the past behind and support Musketeer Football. I would love to see the student section packed for our home opener against Notre Dame!!!!

Anyone have any info on when the spring game will be yet?:idunno: I got to watch practice the other day and the boys are looking really good. I loved watching them battle it out for the spots. They seem to really like the new coach and the way things are being run now. All the boys are in school colors and even take off their shoes before entering the locker room. They are on the right track for a Great season. Keep up the good work boys!!!!!!!:thumb:

Last night at the board meeting Coach Copley asked the board for $45,000 for equipment. Last year some players were wearing JFL equipment. Brain Grayson had 3 ribs cracked last year at Boyd County because of equipment. Football will have to pay the money back. Also the board approved the middle schools to combine football. Coach Copley voiced how he felt about the situation. Coach Copley was for it, which was the deciding factor in the decison to approve it.

I am glad they decided to combine. I think having the middle schools work under a coach directed by Coach Copley will be best for the future of Greenup County Football!!!

I believe Coach Copley will be the one doing the hiring for the 7th&8th grade coach's. I understand that it will be similar to his practices and the way he does stuff. He wants the players to fill like it's a big family.

 

Yes they voted on it and approved it last night. On how they're going to pay it back I really don't know. Maybe football can stop holding other sports up. JMO! Football has so long to pay it back.

This is great news. We really needed the new equipment. There has been quite a few other injuries, though not as serious as the ones you mentioned, due to inferior equipment.

 

Paying back the money from gate revenue will be difficult with only 5 home games, and the teams coming (for the most part) do not bring a large fan base on the road. You are right abut Football supporting other sports, with this debt to pay, there will be less "profit sharing" for other sports.

Wonderful news about the equipment it is about time that the boys get support that has been needed. It is good to see Copley will speak up when need be too. I know there were two legit illnesses (Lyle and Hensley) but many have quit because they do not want to work that hard. As I have said before, a small committed team, giving 100% is better than a team full of slackers. I think they still have about 30 committed players and possible at least that many freshman coming out, so the team should be around 60 players. This is up about 10 from where we finished last year.

 

I agree about Copley speaking up and asking the Board for the needed equipment. This is wonderful!!
