This sounds like Raceland's team camp they have been having for years. It is very beneficial and bonds the players as well. Makes it a family atmosphere.

It really defines your field leaders and allows the team to figure out who their captains are.

I think these school camps work well. Ashland’s coach Hart has held “camp Tomcat” at the high school for 6-years. It starts Sunday afternoon and runs through Friday afternoon.

GC will be getting new bleachers, lights and fieldhouse this offseason. Dont know if fieldhouse will be done before the season starts.

:thumb: Especially on the bolded, I believe the Raceland players started using the "Band of Brothers" theme by this camp.

When mandatory practice starts this summer we will finally see who among our boys in Greenup County really want to play football. Coach Copley intends on some pretty intense practices, which will include two mandatory camps. One a mini camp at the HS will start at 8am on a Wednesday and last until 11pm on Friday night. They will practice early mornings and late at night to avoid the heat. They will run drills and stairs in the gym during the hottest part of the day. They will, for nearly 72 hours, eat and sleep football. No cell phones, no tv, no xbox, girlfriends, etc to distract them from the cause!!!!

I used to like the old style helmets that looked like Michigan. It really didnt say "Greenup County" in that style but still thought they looked cool.

We have to give great props to our BOE for doing what is necessary for our kids to have a safe and good facility for our football program. It was a 5-0 vote last night to do these things.

It was wonderful to see how committed the BOE is to improving things at Greenup County. The plans/schematics for most of the new improvements should be ready to be viewed at the next Board meeting.
