HammerTime Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 ESPN... Ken Griffey Jr. is heading back to the Mariners on a one-year contract, reportedly for a base salary of roughly $2 million and incentive bonuses as well.
born2reign Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 This feels right for him to me. I hope he has some success in his second go around with the Mariners.
The Professor Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Someone posted a few days ago that he had signed on with Atlanta. What happened?
halfback20 Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 I was kind of hoping to see him in Atlanta. Oh well.

DragonFire Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Personally, I'm happy. I don't think he would have added much or anything really to the Braves. It would have been neat to see him there, but I don't know if he'd have had an impact.

The people there love him, he loved his time there, and he's better off in the AL.
LCPATS Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 My prediction is one and done, and he retires with the M hat on. The same hat he will wear in the Hall of Fame.
Jim Schue Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 A rumor was started, and the press ran with it. You hear that GT? A pack of lies -- that's all these lousy media-types deal in ... :sssh:
UKMustangFan Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 My prediction is one and done, and he retires with the M hat on. The same hat he will wear in the Hall of Fame. He doesn't get a choice on what hat he'll wear in the HOF, but I agree it'll be the M's.

saint4 Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 It is right for him to end his career there. He would like to win a WS I think, but no teams want him at this point in his career if they are already a contender.
Breds_12 Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 lol what been better would of been seeing Griffey going to the Yankees.
