February 18, 200917 yr Not to familiar with this situation, but I would think he would want to end his career with the Mariners. What is his reason for going to Atlanta? Well he lives in Orlando but Seattle sucks and that is saying it lightly.

The Atlanta Braves have been my team since I was very young and I remember seeing Griffey when he first entered the league and he quickly became one of my favorite players. I love it now that he is offically a Brave! One of my good friends is a big Braves fan all the way back to the early days of Braves baseball on TBS in the 80's. Hates Griffey...and is about ready to turn in foam Tomahawk.

Hates Griffey...and is about ready to turn in foam Tomahawk. Don't know how anyone can hate Griffey...It's not official yet anyway. Im a huge Braves fan, and I don't see how one could not be happy with the decision to sign Jr if it turns out to be true. Platoon in LF with Matt Diaz, only hit against right-handers, tutor younger outfielders on how to hit a baseball (Francouer, Heyward, Schaffer). I think it's wonderful to be a Braves fan today.
February 18, 200917 yr How does anyone hate Griffey? He was a major reason for the misery that was the Cincinnati Reds in the 2000's. No, he didn't want to be injured and no he didn't want to see his skills deteriorate so rapidly, but the fact of the matter is that his salary and lack of play was huge reason we haven't seen a winning season in Cincinnati in forever. Just once before my son leaves for college next year I would have liked to have had the opportunity to closely follow an exciting Red's pennant race like I did with my dad growing up and that ain't gonna happen.

Well, "hate" in the sense that I don't like him as a player or what he did IMO to the Reds. I obviously don't "hate" him as a person, as I've never met the man.
