This thread is eye-opening  (not really, it's all the same stuff re-hashed), and amusing. I'd use the dead horse smilie, but frankly, it seems a bit cruel.

You'd probably be in trouble with PETA if you do.:D

I won't watch several movies because of comments some of them have made !

I'm with you.

The picture.

If you think I am not a supporter of Sarah Palin you have either a) not been reading BGP P & R; b) not been reading BGP P & R correctly.

I would vote for Sarah Palin for President in 2012.:thumb:

WWWHHHOOOO.....

a) I have not been reading it long.

b). Your post could have been construde as "her image".

Sorry to have struck such a nerve.

I too will vote for Palin in 12'.

Rock On - Freedom is not Free!:ylsuper:

Really says a lot about who they are ! I won't watch several movies because of comments some of them have made !

I'm with you.

Never understood why people can't separate the performer from the public image. Just because you disagree with a person's political bent doesn't mean the art they make is automatically bad.

I don't think that the art is the issue.

I never have a problem with it, but people don't think the art is bad- they just don't want to help finance something they don't support. Personally, that is why I think pirated songs, DVD's, etc. exist

All I have to say on this issue is after watching the segment on the Today Show this morning is that I am in mourning. I have always looked at Ashley with a sort of awe. Now, she has broken my heart with her stance on an issue that quite frankly is not her expertise. Ashley, stick to movies and watching your hubby race cars, leave political activism to others!

GO SARAH GO!!!!!!!!!

Well, I'd say I'll run out of movies to watch long before Ashley , Cruise, Rosie, and a long list of these freaks run out of twisted opinions, or money ! I'm also sure they won't need my contribution to survive, but I simply will not help to support them as long as they continue to keep their heads in the sand and expect me to put mine in with them.:puke:

Their "Art" is not the issue. Putting more of my money into their pockets is.

:thumb: I agree 100% It's the best way to protest celebs, don't buy their products. Ask the Dixie Chicks about how their careers sky rocketed then crashed and burned after making unpopular remarks.

i hope WE ALL realize the irony of slamming a celebrity for voicing her opinion on a topic, especially when we imply "on what authority" is she speaking.

All we do all day on here is spew our opinion on topics, and I am sure if we had access to a bigger soap box we would use it too. I say, more power to the celebs, at least they are speaking out on something and using the power of their celebrity to raise funds for something other than themselves.

Ashley Judd - what a ditz....

I would never have thought she would have fallen for such a ploy.:ohbrother:

My vote goes with Palin. Ashley Judd's been looking pretty old and tired for quite a while.

Never understood those folks that think it's wrong to hold a performer's political positions and comments against that performer but think it's totally fine to refuse to buy products or own stock in companies that act in a manner they disagree with (ie, animal testing). The underlying motivation is applicable to both: not wanting to support someone or something that acts or believes in a manner I disagree with.

By the way, from what I know of this situation, I'm with Palin on this one. Alaska's kind of a big state :D and shooting them from the air is, I'd think, the most practical and cost efficient way to locate and dispose of the wolves.

On BGP we can debate or other sides can be tossed into the mix. These celebrities speak as authorities without retribution. Then you have the media that gives the celebrities this authoritative soapbox from which they can shout to the masses about their cause, the other side does not get that same platform. The media acts like Ashley Jugghead knows more about the situation in Alaska than the experts that live there.

That is the problem! Just becasue they stick a microphone in your face does not mean that I want to hear about or care about your political views!
