Rush Limbaugh says he hopes President Obama fails. If this is truly what he meant then, to me, he wants this country to fail. Mr. Limbaugh wants the economy not to recover. Our military to not win the wars we are fighting.

I wouldn't put Mr. Limbaugh in the same league as Sean Hannity. I listen to him everyday on the way home from work. Mr. Hannity I can agree with sometimes.

Once again if you do not listen to him on a regular basis you do understand Limbaugh. He does not want Obama's socialist, big government plans to succeed. That is no different than the Democractic leadership in Congress opposing Bush's ideas. Yes the way he said it stirred up the situation, but that is Rush.

For what it is worth, I used to listen to Mr. Limbaugh before I really knew about Sean Hannity. I still wouldn't put him in the same league.

Thank God for Rush!

It would be in President Obama's best interest to not worry about Rush Limbaugh. If Rush's comments bother him that much, then I'd hate to see what would happen when the rest of the nation turns on him. (Which I'm sure will happen sooner or later, I can't think of a time when it hasn't... Maybe FDR?).

If a person believes that Obama's polices will hurt the country economically, militarily and morally then is it not acceptable for me to “hope” he fails in doing so?

The great thing for Obama is that no matter how great he fails the blame will never fall on his shoulders...

Limbaugh is a "hater" and his program gets all of its steam from creating friction between the two sides. This friction often corrupts what could be better government.

Obama is correct that you can't follow the preachings of a antagonistic drug addict and expect to get government running smoothly.

Let's review: Limbaugh disagrees with many (most) of Obama's positions.

So you're saying that to disagree with someone's positions is to be a "hater".

Since you disagree with Rush I must conclude that you are a "hater" also...correct? (and that's not even including the mean-spirited "drug addict" comment).

WASHINGTON -- President Obama warned Republicans on Capitol Hill today that they need to quit listening to radio king Rush Limbaugh if they want to get along with Democrats and the new administration.

"You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done,"

To summarize Obama: If you want to get along with us Democrats, stop disagreeing with us and come over to OUR left-leaning positions....

If a person believes that Obama's polices will hurt the country economically, militarily and morally then is it not acceptable for me to “hope” he fails in doing so?

Tell that to the families loosing their homes and people loosing their jobs. Like the ones where I work were their hours have been cut. Tell that to the mothers, fathers, wifes and kids of the men and women who will loose their lives fighting in the wars.

To be fair, this stems from Rush's bashing of Republicans who have decided to give Obama a chance to succeed.

Succeed at WHAT? It depends on what his goals are.

If Obama wants to take our country far-left (& I think he does), then I don't want him to succeed at that.

While we are on the subject of fear and paranoia, what do we believe Obama's purpose was in invoking Limbaugh's name in an executive address to Congress?

Just thinking out loud.

Maybe to cause "fear and paranoia" in the Democrats?

Nah...couldn't be....

I agree. Limbaugh has openly stated that he wishes to see Obama fail. It is difficult to include someone in a dialog to solve difficult problems if they have no interest in seeing those problems solved. Rush Limbaugh's product is divisiveness and discord.

I really question if they do know, and I mean both parties...

If they do they need to act like it. I get so tired of personal agenda's for $$$. If you work in government, you work for the people. You don't work for liberals or conservatives, you work for the tax payers. That's what's wrong with our country, IMO.

Questions: It has been years since I have listened to Rush. Is there anyone out there that is more "far right" than he is? Did he ever provide any support of President Clinton, who was more moderate than what people assume Obama to be?

I'm pretty sure that bigger government sticking their noses in the private sector more and more is the part Rush would like to see Obama fail at. To think Rush wants the country or it's citizens to fail is crazy.

Rush Limbaugh says he hopes President Obama fails.

nWo, please use quotes IN CONTEXT.

Here is the exact radio transcript, with relevant context.

"I've been listening to Barack Obama for a year-and-a-half. I know what his politics are. I know what his plans are, as he has stated them. I don't want them to succeed.

If I wanted Obama to succeed, I'd be happy the Republicans have laid down. And I would be encouraging Republicans to lay down and support him. Look, what he's talking about is the absorption of as much of the private sector by the US government as possible, from the banking business, to the mortgage industry, the automobile business, to health care. I do not want the government in charge of all of these things. I don't want this to work. So I'm thinking of replying to the guy, "Okay, I'll send you a response, but I don't need 400 words, I need four: I hope he fails." (interruption) What are you laughing at? See, here's the point. Everybody thinks it's outrageous to say. Look, even my staff, "Oh, you can't do that." Why not? Why is it any different, what's new, what is unfair about my saying I hope liberalism fails? Liberalism is our problem. Liberalism is what's gotten us dangerously close to the precipice here. Why do I want more of it? I don't care what the Drive-By story is. I would be honored if the Drive-By Media headlined me all day long: "Limbaugh: I Hope Obama Fails."

I agree with Rush: I want Obama to fail (to impliment his disastrous policies), too!
