January 23, 200917 yr Reds are still looking for a meaningful leadoff hitter. Taveras' career .331 OBP is not the answer.
January 23, 200917 yr I said at the end of last season this team is still 2 years away. I think they can compete in 2010, and be a legit force in 11. This year .500 at best. ( I got blasted for this a month ago)

( I got blasted for this a month ago) This team with this roster? There are still some major holes to be filled. There just comes a point where you get tired of waiting on the future. The "future" never seems to show up here in Cincinnati. You try to maintain some level of enthusiasm and excitement, but know deep down that it'll likely be a lost cause come All-Star break.
January 23, 200917 yr Improved from last year, I still say go after Dunn if you can get him at a reasonable price.
January 23, 200917 yr Improved from last year, I still say go after Dunn if you can get him at a reasonable price. Very, very unlikely.
January 24, 200917 yr No surprise here. Reds ownership is concerned about how many fans will come out in the bad economy.
January 24, 200917 yr Wow, a little suprised no more signings or trades. I think this team may be worse than last year unless they can win on small ball.

January 24, 200917 yr That would be a huge surprise, and definitely a baseball first since he is now on the Nationals roster. If anyone can pull it off, Dusty can. He'll pencil Patterson and Neifi Perez into the top two slots in the order.
January 24, 200917 yr John Fay's latest blog suggest that Bob C. is still holding out hope for Nady. I wonder if Bob was aware that he just sign with New York this past week? :ohbrother:
January 24, 200917 yr I wonder if Bob was aware that he just sign with New York this past week? :ohbrother: They can still trade for him. Nady wasn't a free agent to begin with.
January 24, 200917 yr They can still trade for him. Nady wasn't a free agent to begin with. Oh. Well, good, maybe they will. They have my blessing to unload Coco's salary.
January 24, 200917 yr Oh. Well, good, maybe they will. They have my blessing to unload Coco's salary. Huh?? You've really got me confused now. I don't think the Yankees are one bit interested in Cordero.
