Eta Rho Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 From Tom Groeschen blog (nky.com) today: Elder will play Louisville Trinity (Ky.) in football in Week 3 of the 2009 season, Elder athletic director Dave Dabbelt said today. Trinity, the reigning Kentucky 6A (large school) champion, will visit Elder on Sept. 11, 2009. Elder will play at Trinity in Week 3 of 2010 to complete a two-year deal, Dabbelt said. Eta Rho Posted January 19, 2009 Author Posted January 19, 2009 Can a mod fix the thread title please? It should read "Elder (OH) to play Trinity" ....thanks in advance.
Clyde Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Elder is going to be very strong next year. They will be one of the early favorites for the state championship. Great matchup.
2 Humped Camel Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Should be a great series two very good programs. I can't wait.
sportsfan41 Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Elder was boring to watch when they played Colerain during the playoffs, hopefully they have a bit more of a running game for Trinity this year.
DMZ76 Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Elder was boring to watch when they played Colerain during the playoffs, hopefully they have a bit more of a running game for Trinity this year. Winning is boring?
gametime Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Elder was boring to watch when they played Colerain during the playoffs, hopefully they have a bit more of a running game for Trinity this year. Elder has a fantastic JR RB that split time last year. He will be the go to guy and and is no doubt a high D1 talent...
born2reign Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Great for Kentucky football...this game should garner some national attention depending on collegiate prospects playing.
CentreRocks Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Ought to be a tough matchup for the Rocks, with all they are losing this year. I would love to play the Ohio schools around game 8 and not so early in the season.
Eta Rho Posted January 19, 2009 Author Posted January 19, 2009 Elder is going to be very strong next year. They will be one of the early favorites for the state championship. Great matchup. Colerain might have something to say about that with the loaded talent that they return. I agree though, great match up. It also said that Elder has weeks 1, 2, 8, and 9 open as well. With Holmes moving down to 4A, this might set up a Highlands-Elder match up in the Herbie.
Clyde Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Colerain might have something to say about that with the loaded talent that they return. . They would be on that list as well.
sportsfan41 Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Winning is boring? They were good, but their offense was boring. Colerain should've beat them in the playoffs, but instead they beat themselves.
Eta Rho Posted January 19, 2009 Author Posted January 19, 2009 They were good, but their offense was boring. Colerain should've beat them in the playoffs, but instead they beat themselves. Elder's offense is far from boring. Not sure what game you were watching. I saw them against St. Thomas Aquinas (Deron Carter's team..top 10 in the nation) and Elders' passing game was very good. Colerain is one of the toughest teams in the country to run on, so of course Elder had trouble running against them.
sportsfan41 Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Elder has a fantastic JR RB that split time last year. He will be the go to guy and and is no doubt a high D1 talent... Going to be a JR, or going to be a SR?
