Blue Magic
Plasma for sure. Unless you have a bunch of windows around wherever you put your TV. In that case, to prevent a glare, go with the LCD. If not go with Plasma 100%.

SEMPERFIFALCON
What's everyones take on the two? If you want a plasma you might want to get one soon. The Australian Government is making an attempt to ban plasma TV's because they use too much energy...

I don't know, honest question.

I don't know, honest question. Well it's really pretty simple. Australia is just the first to make a major push, the UK is also giving it thought. So two things could happen if the ban succeeds in other countries 1) the price on plasma's will go up because demand goes down 2) The US will follow with either a ban or a hefty tax to detour people from purchasing plasma's... I would think that Country's such as China and Japan would certainly push for no ban of these tv's as it will directly effect major companies there. It could happen, but I doubt it, however I could see the governments saying that they need to make them more energy efficient, similar to what the government has done in the US with its auto manufactures. sportsfan41
As for the tv I'm not buying one soon, but my friend is and they're oblvious and figured I'd get some others thoughts on the matter.
RowdyRedRam
Personally I've thought that the LCDs look better in the showrooms compared to the plasmas. The fact that they use less energy and (correct me if I'm wrong) have a longer lifespan is also a factor.
