No disrepect to you but, Bryan is not just a shooter, top ten in nky on asst., block shots,steals, d rebounds, that is not just a shooting. He droped 35 on

Seneca while being doubled and tripled ( I believe a team Holmes played too). He has played on AAU team with kid that play just like Holmes and just as big. He can jump out of the gym and has been clocked running 40 in the low 4's.Who cares if he would start at Holmes or not this year, he plays for Villa beside I think Holmes is do just fine with out him. If he is only a 5'8 shooter why would Holems want him next year away.

 

1. Him leading those categories has a lot to do with the competition he sees night in and night out. He is a great player regardless, but no way he'd average 35 a game playing a D2 or D1 schedule in NKY.

 

2. As far as him starting for Holmes, I was simply replying to the comments that Bryan would start for ANY team in nky, which is why I brought them up.

 

3. I don't believe anyone said Holmes would want him. I was implying that NEXT YEAR he would probably start for any team in nky.

[This is probably for another thread but I'll ask anyway. Isn't there an age regulation about starting a season if after your 18th birthday? And yes he's a nice player just curious about the age thing.

When did he turn 18, if it was before the cutoff will he be eligible for an exemption from the 19 year old rule next year?

 

To answer the question, I believe there is a cutoff date and I think its Sept 1. Any student that turns 19 before Sept 1 is not eligible to play in the KHSAA. I will check to sure on the date, but I'm 90%

Villa's actually had a pretty tough schedule so far this year:

 

Newport (twice)

Lloyd

Calvary

St. Henry

NCC

Oldham Co.

Seneca

Dixie

Beechwood

 

While Lloyd, Calvary aren't powerhouses they're pretty tough. Dixie may be down this year but they're a big school and historically tough.

Like I said yesterday we would find out more about Blake Byran in the game vs Beechwood. I wanted to see how he would react when things didn't go his way, and he didn't disappoint me. When he was not getting his points he started complaining towards the refs.

This is the same type of frustration I saw this summer when he was confronted with a good defender.

Last night Bryan took some horrible shots. I understand he has to force shots, but colleges who come to games have to be shocked by the shots he takes.

I really can't see him playing any higher than a D3 or an NAIA after high school.

He was much smaller than I had remembered. He can sure jump for his size, he won the tip.

The only time that I saw him really frustrated last night. Was when the BW kid about pulled his jersey off all the way across the base line (in front of the ref) and when he turn around and knocks his hand off his jersey he gets call for the foul. Villa coach says something about it and gets a T.

 

When did he miss open threes he had player or two hanging on his side all night. Its was funny I was sitting around BW fans last night and they even said BW was fouling with no calls. Thats just the way it is some nights.

 

After coming off 49 point game this was not Bryans best shooting night. Also I know he has been sick all week went in school late two days. But no excuss BW has a good team.

Elijah Pittman is a great player I would say #1 in the state. But with the players that Holems has 5 great players starting, and Pittman is getting dobbled every night than some one on Holems should be avg. 35 a game.

 

I wouldn't leave any one on Holems open.
