I heard he stated he was going to interview anyway. Don't you feel your boss would tell you the same thing if you were openly interviewing for another job outside the company where you are currently employed? DragonFire
I'd think that many employers would terminate you on the spot. Just the knowledge that you were looking to get out.
westsider
"Despite the threat from athletic director Gene DeFilippo, Jagodzinski plans to do the interview with the Jets, the sources said." Wasn't DeFillippo once an assistant AD at Kentucky?

LRCW
Ridiculous move on DeFillippo's part ... Why? Should he be expected to remain in limbo until the Jets or Coach Jago make a decision? He's looking out for the best interest of Boston College's football program IMO.
gametime
If that's his stance good luck finding a competent HC to ever take the job while he's in charge...

I agree that will be the problem with him using that stance, but maybe he wants someone that doesn't want to use Boston College as a stepping stone. Clyde
Its a mistake IMO to try to compare this to a "regular job" situation. Actually, I don't think most jobs would fire you if they knew you were interviewing elsewhere. The HC job market accepts this as part of the process. BC interviewed someone who already had a job at one time or another. Its just the way it is and will give pause to future candidates.

Maybe he already has a candidate in mind to take over, and is looking for the easy way to get rid of his current coach. I don't know, just trying to make sense of it somehow. Clyde
He interviewed with the Jets on Tuesday. He is expected to be fired by BC today.
3wishes
I can understand holding him to his contract, but there are other ways besides firing.
