Kurt Warner

Featured Replies

My friends and I were having this debate earlier today....Where does Kurt belong among the list of all-time QBs?? We came to the conclusion that he is one of the most underrated of all-time, and possibly top 15 ever.

Think about this, the man has 2 NFL MVP awards, only Manning & Favre have more, he has been to 2 Super Bowls, winning one, and has also collected 1 Super Bowl MVP awards.

What are everyone else's thoughts?

His career has been good, very good, but he is on the edge on Hall of Fame for me. I am leaning towards no, but that is just me.

He is for sure going into the hall of fame.

And I would put him in the top 15 on every list I made.

Im with you, no way.

Is he top 15?

Who do you take out of the top 15 for him?

Johnny Unitas

Joe Montana

Dan Marino

John Elway

Sammy Baugh

Jim Kelly

Bart Starr

Terry Bradshaw

Roger Staubach

Tom Brady

Payton Manning

Dan Fouts

Steve Young

Troy Aikman

Norm Van Brocklin

Len Dawson

Joe Namath

Otto Graham

Fran Tarkenton

Y.A. Tittle

There are more than 15 listed but many of these have similar team achievements: World Champ, MVP of the Big game. Some, like Warner, have benefited from great systems that stack up numbers but not necessarily trophies. Some played in eras when the numbers aren't as great because the game was different. However, place many in this era and I believe they too excel in certain systems.

I like Warner. I'm not sold on putting him in the top 15 of all time.

Players make systems. How has the Martz system worked out at Detroit and San Francisco? Hall of Famer for sure.

No way he gets in the hall...

I think this post season dictates him getting into the Hall or not. The more he plays the more I think he will get in. Interestingly enough he is in a contract year and neither side have budged a bit. I mean if you are Arz are you really going to let this guy go and start Leinart who has showed nothing in the NFL?

Two time NFL MVP, His all-time passer rating of 94.6 is second only to Steve Young (96.8) and he's topped 300 yards in 45.6% of his career games, by far the highest rate in NFL history.

Highest Completion Percentage, Career (Min. 1500 attempts) - 65.75%

Highest Average Passing Yards Per Game, Career (Min. 100 games) - 261.2 yards/game

Most Yards Passing, Super Bowl - 414 yards vs. Tennessee Titans (only QB to pass for 400+ yards in the Super Bowl; also owns 2nd highest yardage total in Super Bowl with 365 against the New England Patriots)

Highest Rate of Games w/300+ Yards Passing (Min. 100 games played) - 45.2% (47/104)

Most Consecutive Games w/300+ Yards Passing - 6 (tied w/Steve Young and Rich Gannon

Most Games with a Perfect Passer Rating, Career (regular season only) - 3 (tied w/Peyton Manning and Ben Roethlisberger)

Only NFL quarterback to throw 40 touchdowns and win a Super Bowl in the same season (1999).

The only thing that may keep him out is he didn't start playing till he was what 28-29. He should be considered for HOF.

I don't see how anyone can say he isn't a HOF. He's got the ring, which is what QBs are measured by, has multiple MVP awards, not done by a large amount of people, and has a great QB rating.

Please someone, give me a legit arguement against him....

His career and Hall of Fame prospects remind me a lot of Steve Young's. There just seem to be large gaps where they were not playing (Young as a back up in San Francisco, Kurt as a backup with New York and Arizona) and both got a late start on greatness (Young started in Tampa and wasn't a great QB, Kurt started in the Arena Football League), but when they played they were great. Steve Young got into the Hall, so I guess Kurt will as well.

Kurt should have been MVP this year!:thumb:

Hall of Famer, very possible. My post was concerning that he's top 15 all time QB's in NFL history. I still don't think he's that high.

I would agree with that. :thumb:

Isn't he one of the all time leading fumblers among QB's in history?

Where does his INT stats rate?

I like the guy, but when I see him I don't think I'm looking at "all time greatest" kind of player. JMHO
