Yeah. I couldn't believe it when I first turned the game on :lol:

I got up and watched the game this morning because I missed it last night. Here are my thoughts:

 

- good comeback for Hartline; not super, but a good, solid game

- 1st half defense looked like the late season defense; 2nd half defense looked like the early season defense

- worst officiating crew ever; ref standing 6' from the kick returner that touched his knee to the ground and missed it - not once, but twice

- huge win for UK to keep their success building instead of having a setback; 7-6 with 3 consecutive bowl wins is so much better than 6-7 and winning 2 of the last 3

- Bob Davie sucks

- Chris Johnson's IQ is certainly hovering around the danger zone

- Quote of the game (Brooks when asked what he said at halftime...): "I don't think we should repeat that on public television..."

1. Hartline seemed to throw a much better ball last night than he displayed earlier in the year and may very well be the starter next year.

2. UK does not do a very good job in pass coverage of RB's.

3. Sieber's kicks are almost always very low.

4. Where has Burden been all year? A very good showing for him.

5. I thought that Jones had given up during the UT game, glad I was wrong.

6. UK needs some RB's who have Lockes' burst, but with Dixon's size.

7. The WR's looked much better, although I did not see Boyd in the mix.

8. The offensive line needs to get stronger and more physical.

As an entire performance, I felt he threw the ball much the same as the early season. Still floats way too many. Also, no need to throw that deep ball on the flea flicker. He should get his fair shot at the starting spot next year but I think most can agree that Hartline did nothing this year that makes him a clear cut favorite (even considering the fact that his two competitors will be true freshmen).

 

I think it's time for a change at this position. Although Tydlacka got his shot earlier this year and from what I remember didn't really thrill me. Monte Merrick?

 

Burden's play in the second half was a beautiful thing to see. If Lindley goes, it's nice to know you have a talented/young Burden and hopefully Paul Warford back to fill Trevard's shoes.

I've been on board with Brooks the whole time. I'm still with Joker too.

 

The offense struggled this year, but Joker simply didn't have the players on the field. The receivers seemed to show a little more promise in the bowl game, the QB situation can't help but get better next year, and getting Locke back will be great. I'm looking forward to what they can do next year.
