January 2, 200917 yr Great game by USC. The defense played them well from the 2nd quarter through half of the 4th quarter. Sanchez's comments after the game about loving the environment tells me he is leaning towards coming back.
January 2, 200917 yr Great game by USC. I thought that they would probably win playing what amounts to a home game but I did think that it would be a closer game than it was. 31-7 at half! I also have to give kudos to the Penn State team, it would had ben so easy just to pack it in at the half but they came out in the 2nd half and played well. They played for Penn State/Joe Pa pride instead of laying down and quitting. That showed me alot. I have to agree that USC may be the best team in the country right now. All imo that we can hope for in the future is a plus one type format game. With that in place this season then USC would still have shot at a NC. (and yes I know...."If a frog had wings....")
January 2, 200917 yr Penn State didn't give up, that's for sure. They got 7 points in the first half, and 17 in the second while USC put up 31 in the first, and 7 in the second.

The Trojans piddled around in the 2nd half and just ran the ball and their defense was head-hunting instead of tackling and snapping punts funny with 45 seconds left, but this was a classic case of USC beating a team so badly that they just kind of get bored. The Trojan defense just physically beat the bejeezus out of the Lions. Penn St. must have had 3-4 guys that were given smelling salts. I am actually sad that we don't get to watch Florida or Oklahoma play USC for the belt. This sucks.
January 2, 200917 yr USC might be the best team in the country. I agree. They sure took a step in that direction today. We'll have to wait to see how the rest of the Bowls end, but they really looked good today.
