I just don't have a good feeling about this game.

 

I think UL will shut down either Patterson or Meeks and I don't feel that we have another solid third scorer that can make up the difference of one of them having an off night.

It will be Patterson they shut down... at least the focus will be on him first. Pitino is good at shutting down big men as well. You can send all 5 guys at Meeks and he will still find a way to jack up 20 shots (either good or bad).

 

It is much more important for Patterson to have a big game than it is for Meeks, imo.

I agree with that. Only thing that concerns me with doubling down on Patterson is the threat of him kicking it back out to wide open shooters.

I agree but in my opinion I'd try to shut down Meeks. He's more capable of putting up huge numbers. Patterson is capable of going for 30 or so but if the 3 ball is dropping Meeks is a threat to get 40 or better.

 

Win or lose (and this in my opinion is the key to UK winning) I hope we UK fans see the Deandre Liggins we saw earlier this year. I'd love to see him slash to the lane like he showed he could at moments earlier this season and get to the foul line.

 

I'm also interested in seeing what Harrelson's roll is today. This is a big game and the experimenting with the line up deal should be over at this point. Today will give us UK fans a good idea of what type of lineup BCG is going to put on the floor in SEC play.

The best way to shut down Patrick Patterson would be to try and get him in foul trouble in my opinion.

Tim Higgins will be officiating... Be prepared for a ton of whistles...
