Roethlisberger Hurt in 2nd Quarter of Cleveland Game

Featured Replies

Was it a bad idea when the Giants played their starters for the entire game last year vs. the Pats on week 17?

They are playing the Browns.

He shouldn't have been in the game!!!

Not a soul on any of the pregames agreed that he should sit out. Not a single former coach said that they'd sit him out of this game. Obviously, you dread if this sort of thing happen, but it's always a possibility. Most said they'd play him a half. He was short of making halftime by a minute and a half. But what do they know? They should have called Malachi.

With nothing to play for and playing the Browns, who would have been upset had they sat him? You make it sound like a complete off the wall move, but most teams who don't have anything to play for do such things.

Not saying that at all. However, if he's healthy, none of the folks on pregame shows thought it was a good idea having him sit out nearly 3 wks since his last game action. Again, what do they know? They only coached or played at that level.

As bad as I hate to say it, the Steelers are Super Bowl contenders. It's assinine to have him in a meaningless game. He shouldn't have played period.

Manning played today, nothing to play for....next.

Manning played 1 quarter. And Manning doesn't get sacked or hit on every play like Big Ben. Ben needed the rest.

Get in there and get a couple of drives in to keep your timing. Hindsight is obviously 20/20, but let's not act like sitting your starting QB for much of the game with nothing to play for in the last week is crazy (which is what you are doing).

1 quarter, 2 quarters, not much difference, neither could change their teams playoff position.
Sure do:thumb:

You have me convinced.

Hate to see anyone get hurt. Hopefully he's good to go in 2 weeks

It changes their playoff position if he's watching in street clothes, or worse, from a hospital bed.
