West Virginia teams play a slower style. SC will hold Elliott below 100 pts, but will not have a chance to beat Elliott.

I agree with wireman! South Charleston will be Elliotts first game of the season. The rest according to PO were less than a practice. I always like the underdog so I am going with Elliott by 1.

I don't really like to criticize teams too much. I love the fact that a small school like Elliott Co. is having such great success. Its good for high school basketball. But its dissapointing that they don't atleast play in a tough in-state tournament or something. Its hard to have an idea how good Elliott Co. is while playing no one in Ky who will be top 10 team more than likely. I have seen them play and they are talented. And they did have a great game against Mason Co. last year. It would just be nice to see them schedule say Franklin Co. and Bryan Station for example. I understand that most the talent will graduate and they can't have a bunch of tough games, but a couple would be nice.

That being said Beach Ball will test them.

Not sure the status of this potential game, but it's possibility is a result of teams having games cancelled. FC is trying to pick up another game and rumour has it they have been in contact with Jtown and Elliott.

 

Quite frankly a trip to "The Hook" would be awesome. The people are super friendly and have an extreme passion for basketball.

 

I personally believe these guys are the real deal. I have watched the "F troop" play a bunch of games against great comp in AAU. They gave last years state champ a huge scare in Rupp.

 

Their differentiators are:

 

Ball handling....they can handle any pressure any team in the state of KY can throw at them. The Faulkner twins are fanastic ball handlers and passers. They know where each other are on the floor at all times and have ultimate trust in their treamates. When Ferguson heats up, they get him the ball.

 

Shooting .....Ferguson is an unbelievable pure shooter. Argueably the best in the state. The rest on the team are also very good. There is no substitute for great shooting.

 

Defense/conditioning........may be the best conditioned team in the state. These guys thrive on hard work and the more people doubt them the harder they work. Rumour has it they sprint up a mountain after every practice. As a result they can bring the defense!!!!!

 

Will to win.....This can't be taught, they have guts and an unbelievable will to win. They will leave everthing on the floor every game. Effort is never a problem. I bet if these guys played a simple game of ping pong it would be an all out war!!!!

 

I will not be surprised if they take down the #1 team in WV!!!!!

Based on this being S. Charelston's first game of the year, EC will throw something at them that they may not be prepared for. I'll take EC by 10

Since Elliott doesn't play anybody and when they do they get beat I will go with South Charleston 86 Elliott County 78. South Charleston is not a very good team or the margin would be greater.

Are you serious? So what you are saying is that SC will win by 8 but they are not very good? What does that say about Elliott County? These are two good teams and should be an excellent matchup.
