Trinity is a class program...too bad it has people like CentreRocks who feel the need to beat their chest about the obvious.

 

Does it feel good to say such things? To scoff at those that have less? Should a Doctor get in his BMW and drive through an impoverished neighborhood so that he may tell his buddies at a cocktail party how shoddy the world outside his manicured gardens is and how nice it is inside their gates?

 

You see it in the NFL, you see it in college, and even as we speak, it seeps into High School, so urged on by the words of those who have forgotten its value; Modesty is dying before our eyes.

Not knowing the age of Centre Rocks I will not crash his ego. For all other programs that don't meet the standards of Trinity:rolleyes:, be proud of your kids, the program their with, and effort they give each week. Not everyone can be recruited by...oops I mean attend Trinity. There's many schools throughout the nation that are just as good, if not better. Yes, Trinity and the fans have an outstanding football program and should be proud; yet humble.

I think that CentreRocks is being misinterpreted. I believe that what many are taking as a slam on other programs is actually meant to be a reminder to Trinity fans to be thankful for many things: our Coach (who is maligned by many, and not just opponents); his staff who are obviously very, very good at their jobs; the level of support our community gives to the program to continue to improve; and of course, our players. While the numbers are many, not nearly all are as naturally gifted as many believe. We are very lucky that we have the interest and committment from top to bottom from the players. We should all be grateful for what we have.

Because the manner in which CR "patted his team on the back" was also rather disparaging to all the other teams out there this past weekend and throughout the year. You want to brag about how wonderful your team is? Great. You should. They are. Just don't do it in a manner that is demeaning to other teams that also work their tails off and are equally and justifiably proud of their team.

I posted a Bama Fan only this early fall, but didn't mind if someone wanted to say something and they didn't care for Bama. They posted and didn't say anything nice and were kinda mean...12-1 :ylsuper:

Rockmom and others were onto something IMO, that the topic was to remind US what we have, where hard work has taken us to, not to take it for granted and respect it. it was not to slam all the other fine schools who worked hard to get to this past weekend.
