I believe its Gillispie. Marquette has only had 1 really good season under Crean. I never have been that impressed with Crean. Also, going back to win UK was looking for a coach I didn't believe Crean was a good fit a UK. Hes a better fit at IU IMO.

I believe the job Gillispie did with last year's team was very impressive. I don't think Crawford or Bradley would have been near as good if Gillispie didn't come in and get them to play as hard as they did. If you look at the injuries UK had and to go 12-4 in the SEC was impressive IMO.

As far as recruiting goes. I believe Gillispie has made some mistakes, but hes also signed some very good players. Patterson, Liggins, Miller, and has some good commitments, most notably Orton and Ferguson.

I don't see how someone can make a complete and honest assumption about either..

Tom Crean has been at IU for not even a full season and BCG has been at UK for almost a season and a half. Ask this question in another two seasons..

 

Both of those guys were head coaches prior to their current gigs...we have a little more than their current situations to go by.

What does it matter what he was rated. Crean identified a great talent, landed him and got to a Final 4.

Roll your eyes all you want to, it's "clear" that Gillispie is a much better recruiter then Tom Crean. Coaching i'm not sure, but recruiting, it's a landslide in favor of Billy G.
