Class 4A: Bell County 15 Bullitt East 13

Featured Replies

Not going to say I told you so, but--------I told a lot of you on here that this game wouldn't be a blow out or even close to one. At the same time, even I didn't think it would be a two point game that wasn't decided until :10 ticks left on the clock. I was expecting a 2 TD difference or so.

That game was a dogfight until the very end. Bell won and that's all that matters in the end, but I believe Bullitt East just earned a great deal of respect as well as the the 4A west. A lot on here thought this would be LexCath/Lone Oak pt. II. Not quite.

Congrats to Coach Hilton on his 3rd, his son and the rest of the Bobcats. May the same be handed out to Doug Preston and his very gutsy bunch.

I will say this and this is all I will add. BE did not stop Bell County! Bell County stoped Bell County. Halftime score should have been 21-7. But to there credit they kept fighting. All that matters is that the TROHPY and the title of "STATE CHAMPS" lives in BOBCAT Country for 2008!

Man I love seeing mountains teams take down the big titles. Congrats to Bell Co. on a awesome season and Bullitt East on a great year as well.

Hey! Give credit where credit is due. Of course Bell made mistakes that you say Bell beat Bell but the pressure from BE had to play a part. That is the way of football or any sport. If there is no competition then every team would play each play perfect. However Bell did what it took to win and that is all that matters. BE had a great season and played a great final game and should be proud of their team.

Congrats to Bell Co. on great year and a undefeated season. Bullitt East played a great game and had a good season. I thought this game would have been one sided, but BE gave Bell a good game.

Congratulations to both teams, it was a close one!

Good job by BE of playing hard. Bell did make it MUCH harder than it had to be. Anyone that thinks Bell played even close to good football in the 1st half is kidding themselves. Not to take anything away from BE but Bell was very tight acting, very nervous. Things that they usually execute on they did not. 1st and goal at the 1 and don't get in??? That was not Bell Co. Glad to see them change some things in the second half and fly around with some excitement instead of walking on egg shells.

The underclassmen really stepped up for them in the 2nd half. Brown, Hilton, and Carton all in the Soph. class had huge games.

The RB #13 for BE has some kind of heartcondition that caused him not to play for most of the 3rd quarter and his backup got hurt on the opening kickoff with a separated shoulder. That was the big difference in the 2nd half. Once the trainer's got #13 stable he went back in and tried to play. Most kids wouldn't even be playing. A very tough and courageous kid.

That's my younger brother, he only acutually sat out about 1 offensive series, and part of the next defensive series. He did want me to make sure people didn't look at him as a "heart patient" in his terms. The ailment is referred to as SVT, minor issue where heart developes an extra avenue, sometimes causes a random heartbeat, happens about twice a year. Can be easily fixed, though doctors have told us it's not necessary, so our dad and I haven't seen logic in having the heart of 17 year old operated on for unnecessary reasons. Anyway, went on longer than I was planning, however, I wanted to thank you for your kind words. Great game to watch, Zack says it was an even better game to play in, he said it was very clean, sportsmanlike game, always like to hear two very good teams get together with some sort of mutual respect.

Man your brother is a horse!! BE is always a class act with Settles and now Preston. I have heard he is a heck of baseball player. Is he going somewhere to play college Baseball?

Your brother was most impressive! Good luck to him in the future! :thumb:

Thank you both, I was going to try to keep anonimous, let that one go huh. As far as his future entails, it's all still kind of up in the air, no college offers, but getting some letters and things, has gotten a little attention from MLB, but again like I said it's all kind of still up in the air.

I watched the replay of this game on WYMT on Sunday. Great game. Bullitt East really came to play. Congrats to Bell County taking their 2nd state championship back to Log Mountain. Congrats to Dudley on #3. 15-0 for the Bobcats, ... it doesn't get much better than that if you are Bell County fan.

I saw him play twice and he is a very good RB, hard to believe that he only played RB for half a year. Hard to see how someone would have him at TE. He has alot of talent at RB.

Congrats to both teams that was the best game of the weekend, especially since everyone had BE getting beat by 40. Good game plan by Coach Preston.

Congrats to Dudley and John Dudley.

Congratulations to Bell County. Well deserved.

Given the showing of support for the MS program at the KYMSFA Conference-on-Conference MS championships Bell has a great football future.

Also, congratulations to BE.

McCarthy has one of the biggest hearts of any player i have ever seen play. The East team played like champions. It is a shame anyone had to lose this game. East's future look's bright also with 4 sophomores seing key playing time in the game saturday and 4 juniors. Also the freshman group is very strong. Over 40 kids in grades nine to 11 have committed to coming back out that didn't come out this year. Some of them are the best athletes in the building. Don't be shocked to see the same scenario next fall with East playing a very tough schedule that includes 5 class 6A schools in the regular season. They will be primed for the playoffs.
