Just wanted to say publicly how proud I am of Jarred Frank and the way he manned the middle of the defense tonight. Standing up three offensive linemen is no easy easy task and he did it all night long. That and he had quite a few tackles. Great job. I am so proud of all the Birds tonight.

You have a lot to be proud of in that young man! Good luck to him in his future endeavors.

I'm actually stunned we're having this debate. Its almost like you have a defense mechanism in place.

 

We're really debating that a last-second TD off of a mad scramble gave one team momentum and took it away from the other - the other who would have been leading at half? Really?

 

Would it make you feel better if it wasn't just me saying it? How about Coach Mueller? Birds players? THe word "momentum" was mentioned about 28 times in the paper this morning.

Exactly! When you have a kicker as good as Kody, it's hard to argue the point. Fact is, the momentum had already swung on the previous plays. It was just a matter of whether it would be 3 points or 7. :thumb:

Good game on both parts. Highlands won the game upfront. Christian County could not run the ball except had some success on speed option. Thought going in to the game Christian could throw the ball on them and they did. Highlands put alot of pressure on Countys QB which limited the deep ball plus Highlands DBs were playing 8 to 10 yards off. Highlands DB's did a great job off coming off the stalk blocks and laid some good licks in.

 

Christian County played hard and did not give up but just got beat by a better team. Highlands offensive line is very very good. Fort Thomas runs Counter Trey better than any team I've seen in Kentucky ever!

 

As for next year I look for Highlands to be back. I like their back-up QB. He could be as good as the last two and thats saying alot.

That was my point. No matter what superlatives are used for the opposition, Highlands manages to come out on top. Discipline and coaching are the intangibles that make the difference.

^ completely agree. Everyone wants to knock HHS, but no one should disrespect what happens inside that locker room and on the practicve field. Be the hunted, not the hunter...

I gave him props in my earlier post. He made some nice tackles on the outside and that "bat down" was turning point in the game. Not to mention him falling on the fumble late. Glad to see him go out with another ring and be part of a fantastic defense.

 

Jake was HUGE throughout the playoffs. If he doesn't recover that fumble against Bryan Station, we aren't even talking about HHS right now.

I haven't heard much acclaim for the Bird# 18. Not trophies.., but linebacker Jake Turner. He had a monster game last night.. Way to go Jake:thumb:

 

Yeah, he knocked away what seemed to be the only sideline pass that they managed to defend all night. That play had been a killer all night before he stepped in. You could see in his body language that he was expecting it. Great play, Jacob.:thumb:

No....Johnson Central was the best team in my opinion...:thumb: If they could of defended the pass a little better they could of been here instead of the Birds..

Fair enough. I'm comfortable with saying it was a likely FG. Again, and I'm assuming by your moniker that you've played, it would still be a "victory" for CC to hold them to a FG after an apparent TD. OF course, we're completing assuming success which would be a dangerous assumption.
