"They messed up my swack." What is your favorite pro athlete comments?

Featured Replies

This week Lendale White, responding to a reporter about RBs Stewart & Williams of the Panthers taking the nickname of RBs White & Johnson of the Titans, he said something like this, "They messed up my swack. For those that don't know, that means swagger-jacked." For some reason this cracked me up as much as any other pro athlete comment. Where do they get this stuff?

My #1 favorite of all time though is Randy Moss responding to how he would pay for a fine... "Straight cash, homey." That cracks me up everytime I hear it.

What is your favorite?

Love that one! I use 'straight cash homey' all the time......it's great stuff!

Later.

Practice???

Tyson's "fade into Bolivia" takes the cake for me.

^ A lot of Tyson's stuff is golden. There's a great video on YouTube that's almost 10 minutes long full of Tyson quotes. It's a good summary of his career: for every funny one, there's another that's sociopathic and tragic.

I have to agree with Deuce, though. "We're talkin' bout practice."

Tysons I feel humiliation, degredation, and any other -tion you can name.

Tyson's "fade into Bolivia" takes the cake for me.

Definitely a classic.

My all-time favorite comes from Charles Shackleford...

"Left hand, right hand, it doesn't matter. I'm amphibious."

I couldn't remember who said the above quote, so I tried to look it up, and found the 20 dumbest sports quotes of all time (with some funny commentary)...allow me to share a few of them with you.

No. 18 NFL QB Joe Theismann

"Nobody in football should be called a genius. A genius is a guy like Norman Einstein."

Yeah Norman Einstein, just like our first president, you know, Bob Washington.

No. 17 NBA Star Jason Kidd

"We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees."

I doubt this comment was made when his team was doing well, so I will leave the thinking to you.

No. 16 NBA Star Tracy McGrady

"My career was sputtering until I did a 360 and got headed in the right direction."

Right Tracy, the same direction Jason Kidd turned his team towards.

No. 15 NBA Star Shaquille O'Neal

"I've won at every level, except college and pro."

All I can do is shake my head.

No. 14 NFL Star Jerry Rice

"I feel like I'm the best, but you're not going to get me to say that."

Of course I am not going to get you to say that Jerry, just keep thinking that.

No. 13 Boxer Floyd Patterson

"Fear was absolutely necessary. Without it, I would have been scared to death."

So without the fear, you would not be scared. That's perfect logic right there.

No. 12 Boxer Mike Tyson

"He called me a 'rapist' and a 'recluse'. I'm not a recluse."

Well I am glad you cleared that up Mike. Being a recluse would be horrible. Thank God you're just a rapist.

NO. 8 NFL Coach Bill Cower

"We're not attempting to circumcise rules."

Is that possible?

No. 6 NBA Coach Doug Collins

"Any time Detroit scores more than 100 points and holds the other team below 100 points, they almost always win."

Doug, if they have ever lost after putting up 100 and allowing less than 100, you must be high.

No. 1 MLB Player Tug McGraw

"I dunno. I never smoked any Astroturf."

That was his response when asked if preferred grass or Astroturf.

Trust me Tug, that astroturf is good (stuff).

If you want to read them all...

I have to agree with Bugatti.

The Lendale White "I've been swacked....swagger jacked", comment did it for me last night watching Sportscenter. Laughed for about ten minutes.

"I am like the pythagrium theorem, I can't be figured out." Shaq.

My favorite was Joe Montana talking smack to Lawrence Taylor in a playoff game. 49ers were ahead, and sometime in the 4th quarter, Taylor sacked Montana for the first time that day. Joe stood up, looked at LT and is said to have commented "There you are, .. I was beginning to think you weren't playing today." That's a competitor to talk smack to LT.

However, the most memorable was AI's rant about practice. Just hilarious.

When Emmitt Smith was talking about the Giants/Pats after last years super bowl, he said the Patriots got, "Debacled"..
