Admittedly you know more about these teams, but I'd take Phares over Pittman, and I'd say Jackson/Johnson are even. Also, I don't understand why you think that Holmes should be able to outrebound SC, since Scott County is bigger.

I stated Phares is probably better at finishing around the rim than Pittman, but Pittman is much better and has more range outside than Phares which is why I stated they are probably even.

 

I wouldn't necessarily say SC is bigger. Outside of the Euton/Johnson match up, there really isn't any other height advantage for SC and Holmes has showed that they are tough on the boards. See Brandon Housely. If I'm not mistaken he has led Holmes in rebounding two of their first three games and he is only 6'2. Holmes has been playing Arnold a lot lately as well and I'm sure will do that in this game too. Having Arnold in there makes them considerably bigger:

 

Riley 6', J.Johnson 6'4, R. Johnson 6'5. Arnold 6'6, and Pittman 6'7. Expect to see this lineup a lot throughout the game.

Seeing how the SC kids aren't much bigger, I'd say jumping is going to have a lot to do with it, and I would take JJ on the board against most anyone in the state.

In two statewide polls of Kentucky coaches, Scott County was voted No. 1 and Holmes was voted No. 2 entering the 2008-09 season.

 

A game between local media celebrities will occur at 5:45 p.m. Sunday, before the Holmes-Scott County game. Honorary chairperson for this year’s event is basketball legend Oscar Robertson, who will sign copies of his new book both days of the classic.

One thing I wanted to point out from the article:

 

Proceeds from the Bluegrass-Buckeye Charity Holiday Classic will be donated to four local charities: Neediest Kids of All, Ruth Lyons Children’s Fund, Queen City Foundation and St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

 

I'm sure that the competition will be fierce between these two teams involved but I think an even bigger round of applause should be given to both programs, coaches, and all players involved for helping out by participating and showcasing their talents to help benefit a great cause.

I'm sure the competition he played against at Rose Hill his frosh and Soph years had a lot to do with that statement considering you don't see many 6'4 guards in the 16th region...

I doubt kwl saw him at Rose Hill so I'd guess that one won't hold water. Let's put it this way,,,,,I'd get a body on him.
