I do root against THEEE OSU occasionally.:D:D

I've always rooted against the Cubs, but it makes it that much sweeter when they lose with Rocket being such a big fan...:D Same can be said about the Giants and HB20.

Good point. However, it is patently obvious that some members have agendas to push, and they do so at the expense of other schools and their high school players. That gets frustrating for some of us that consider themselves to be fair-minded.

So you lower yourself to root for a kid to fail? I don't believe that.

I root for kids to fail if they are playing the team I support. What's wrong with that ?

That's different. You have a vested interest in the outcome of the game ie your team winning. Rooting against a team that you're not playing simply because you don't like their fans is infantile IMO.

I should have read all your post in this one.

Got ya:thumb:

Being fair minded includes knowing that those type of people exist.

To take out your frustration at the expense of high school kids is more immature than pushing an agenda.

It's that whole "well he started it" argument.

Not aimed at you mcpapa; I'm speaking generally here.

Somehow I managed to give the wrong impression entirely. Perhaps it was the use of the word "However".

It is readily apparent to me that there are some folks on this board who wish to promote a certain team; sometimes even a particular player. Rather than do so in a positive fashion, they do so at the expense of another team/teams, or player/players. That is frustrating to me.

I am the type of person that would rather see teams/players that I support be successful because of their positive play, rather than root against players on the opposing team. I think it is ridiculous to "root against" teenagers.

Personally, I find it sad when people actually go out of their way to root against somebody. I don't like Louisville, but I don't root against their team simply to spite the Louisville fans that I know (and those who post on here). I am not saddened when these teams lose, and I will occassionally cheer for the team they're playing. But even then, there is a big difference to me between college & high school sports (and athletes). I do not root against any high schools and especially don't root against any high school kids.

I try to focus on the much more positive aspects of sports. Admittedly, it doesn't always work, but I do try.

Some things you just grow out of & realize that there are far more important things in life.

Sadly enough, some people don't ever grow out of it.

I agree. I support all teams in the 10th region. When Mason Co was playing in the state tourney I wore Royal Blue to the game in support of them. I posted that on the site and some Mason posters have made fun of me and "questioned" If I posted the truth. Yes Mason is a rival team of ours...but they are high school kids playing and loving the game. I am sure if I knew their players personally I would love them like I do my own players. :thumb:

I try to support all of the 10th region as well. Well, maybe not Brossart:lol::rolleyes:

Nothing but love for the 'Stangs

Me too - occasionally all the time. :thumb:

I grew up playing against Clark County and Madison Central and HATED them with a passion. Then after getting to know nWo and GoldSunrise, I find myself cheering for them when they aren't playing one of the local teams I cheer for.

Thanks buddie. I too have found myself supporting other teams because of posters I have met through BGP. Didn't know much about Henderson Co....because of All Thumbs ( rest his soul) I always like to see them get the W.

No, just a good memory.

I don't know what you're talking about …

I bear no ill will toward any team. As I've often said, I'm a fan of every team, but a fan of no team. I just like watching the games.

Find myself rooting against the NY Giants for two reasons...
