Best Freshman in NKY

Featured Replies

I would like to see Holy Cross and Lloyd JV play, Fuller against Asher. Brady Asher is 6-1 with an ERA under 1.0 for the Juggs JV this year. He is right around 80 with a great change up. Does anyone know who Fuller plays for in the summer?

MPH? Let's not get crazy now. If he was throwing that hard he'd be pitching varsity. Not one pitcher at Lloyd, varsity or JV, has hit 80 all year. The closest one would be Dylan McGuire and he only throws high 70's. But Brady is a big strong kid, and has pitched great for the JV squad. He'll most likely be brought up at the end of the year, and will see some time on the varsity squad next year.

Brady Asher has to be one of the best pitchers in the freshman class, Hillard plays SS, Tyler York is one of the best CF out there and Tyler Plageman catches, all of these guys are playing JV at Lloyd.

Correct.

Any updates from the Freshman tourney?

Boone beat Conner 5 to 2 to advance in Freshman tourney

Ryle Beat Dixie 7-6, will be playing tomorrow night against Boone in the semis at 7:30 pm at Dixie under the lights.

Gotta mention Doug Teegarden. Freshman at Boone County playing varsity.

5-0 or 6-0 pitching wise. also very smooth at SS.

Dalton West - C, Apollo

36 for 76 (.474) 13 2b, 1 HR, 28 RBI

He throws every bit of high 70's no doubt and as far as next year he's a regular in the rotation, not "some playin time"....there are 3 kids on that JV team that should playing Varsity full time, so don't make it sound like its lack of talent that is keeping these guys on the JV team....Asher, York and Brown should be playing varsity

1. I have watched Lloyd play quit a few times and there are very talented at all positions (Pitching is thin to say the least but talented). They have alot of upper class men so saying that 2 freshman and a 8th grader should be regulars now is a bit crazy.

2. Brown has already had a few starts on varsity and has done well and probally will be in the rotation next year. So if Asher is throwing "80" or high 70's why hasn't he made a varsity start yet? IMO The coaches are letting him and others get the high school experience first. Not putting them out when they aren't ready. So don't think much of it.

3. IMO York will be starting in the outfield some where next year. May not be a everyday starter but wil be out there alot.

Did HC's freshman team play their second tournament game yet?

Yes, they lost to NCC 9-2.

He's just not ready yet, he's a freshmen. Not to take anything away from him, because what I've heard he's a stud at the JV level. Pitching next year may be limited, I'd say he could compete for the everyday third basemen spot. Varsity is a whole different brand of baseball. Next year he might see some time in a relief role. Next year the Jugg's rotation will look like this: 1. McGuire 2. Pittman 3. Warren 4. Jouett 5. Brown. Relievers: Banta, Willett, Asher, Hillard.

No one questioned their talent. They're good ball players, but they're just too young and inexperienced.

That is a good point! Pitching will be pretty tight next year. Alot of older and more veteran pitchers to compete with. He might have to wait until his junior year to be in the regular rotation.

IMO I think next year will be great to see what Brown brings to the table. Him being in the regular rotation as a freshman is quite a accomplishment!
