New York Here We Come

Featured Replies

Ok, I started a thread on this a while ago ( if a mod could bring it up that would be great. I was having trouble locating it, it kept telling me to wait 15 seconds.)

We are leaving Wednesday morning to fly to NY. We are so excited. I am trying to pack carry-ons only b/c we don't want to pay to check our bags.I hear its freezing there so we are doing lots of layering. I can't decide what all we should do while we are there. We want to do the Ellis Island tour, city bus tour, carriage ride through central park. Any suggestions would be great. We will be there for 4 and a half days.

It would be great to go the Rockettes. The Ellis Island tour is fantastic but you will have to go on another one tour to see the Statue of Liberty. When we went the Twin Towers were still there, I would want to see the memorial. Macy's is another place at Christmas time I would love to see - even if it is just the windows. You can tell that I'm envious, have a very safe time and enjoy every second. Oh, by the way, wear very comfortable shoes. Make a sign and stand at the Today spot early in the morning with BGP so I can see you before I go to school.

Get your walking shoes ready. That's the best way to see NYC.

In order to have the most fun in NYC you have to hit up Times Square. The Toys are us shop in incredible. Heading down to the 9/11 site is something everyone should see. If you want some cheap knockoffs go to Chinatown. (its on the way to 9/11 site on Canal Street) The Statue of Liberty isnt really worth seeing but the Ellis Island is well worth your time. I was there for a few hours and its fun to see everything in the building. Central Park in beautiful this time of year and Macy's is a blast. Good luck getting any reasonably priced tickets to any shows. Have fun and enjoy the trip

How fun!! I have never been there so no suggestions from me. Just have a great time and enjoy!! Be safe! Maybe we could see you all on Good Morning America (that is if you all are going to be in that area!)....You all could hold up a sign saying BGP...Children of the 'ru! Have a great time!

You could walk all day in Manhattan and it seems like you never leave...maybe because it's hard to walk out of Manhattan!

My roomate and my cousin and I went to New York city a few years ago to see the G-Men play, and we went in Manhattan and walked for hours without leaving that part of New York.

We also went to a comedy club called "The Comic Strip Live", you should check it out. It is where Jerry Seinfeld filmed the opening scenes of his TV show where he is doing stand up. A lot of big comedians have performed there and from time to time they come back. While we were there, there were no big names but all of the comedians were HILARIOUS. You should check that out.

And if you have a big enough carry on, you should pack me and take me with you so that I can go watch the Giants!

If you're going to pack heat while in NYC, make sure to get a permit first. :sssh:

(Saw Halfback posted in this thread, so this one was more for him. ;))

We are doing GMA, and we are making signs. FF is wearing his BGP shirt that day. Hopefully we will make in on TV.

Gotta ride the subways...They are cool.

Alright I posted this in the other NY thread.

Go to Madame Tussuad's Wax Museum it's a must see. We went to the United Nations also, it was neat.

Statue of Liberty is overrated as a tourist attraction.

Time Square at night is one great place to be.

Planet Hollywood was fun (they had a fashion show going on and someone from the TLC channel was the host)

ESPN zone is good also.

China Town was very nasty.

Stand next to that guy "Lenny" who's on there every day and you should have a good chance. I'm sure you know of this "Lenny" character.

I thought the same, that place was very dirty, I thought I would need a shot of penicillin after walking through. Plus I kept fearing the Feds would walk into the purse shops and bust them while my wife purchased her Kate Spade knockoffs.

If it was me I would have to hit some of the museums! Have fun and be safe we will look for you on GMA!

Thank you so much!!! We are very excited. I hear it is bitterly cold right now with the wind that is ripping through there. We are planning on doing a carriage ride through Central Park, that I can't wait to do as well. 5 days seems like a lot of time until I make an dagenda and then the time is gone. I will keep you posted on our trip and post pics when we get back.
