New York Here We Come

Featured Replies

China town might not be the place to eat, but it was worth seeing. It a part of New York. An interesting place to walk through.

We ate in the Italian section........so good!

ESPN Zone....expensive. I would rather spend my money doing something more "New York"

There is a Toys R Us with a ferris wheel inside. That was neat to see.

If you havent done so, plan some of your trip via the subway system. Grand Central Station is neat to see, and it is a great way to get from place to place. Wish we had a subway system around here.

The site of the twin towers is very moving.

We walked a LOT. Bring good socks and shoes and dress warmly!

My cousin married a Chinese girl there in 2000 and I flew up and it was a 12 course dinner or something. I have never seen so many things I didnt want to touch in my life. Shark Fin soup to start, all of these other nasty things and then when they said we were finally going to be served chicken they brought the dang thing out with the head and all still intact. It was appalling !!!! :scared:

I ducked out of the reception and walked down to a McDonalds and yes it is very weird in Chinatown.

I liked Little Italy the best when I was there. Also Times Square was very cool.

I wet in the late 70's. I got to see Reggie Jackson play in Yankee Stadium. The Big Ball Park in the Bronx is a sight to see. We walked for what seemed like miles and my neck was sore the next morning from looking up at the buildings. No one has mentioned it but the Empire State Building is pretty cool!! I'll give you the same advice a trucker on the CB radio gave us(we drove) while we were on the road...he said dont take too big of a bite of the Big Apple because you might find a worm!!

:laugh::laugh: I tended to do this in the early 70's back when I was 3. LOL

I just got a call at 5:30am saying that our flights were canceled and to call to rebook. GRRR. The times they have for re-booking are only having us land in NY 20 min later than originally but its such a pain. Going to be a long day.

Only a 20 min issue. Be happy. My buddy was with us in Chicago for a bachelor party this fall and had tickets to the Bengals / Ny Giants game that he was scheduled to fly out on that Sunday morning. All flights were cancelled due to fog. Oops. Cant go to the game at 1pm. Talk about a damper.

Have fun and enjoy !!!!

We got our tickets off Priceline but we bid on them, so rules and regulations are different with them than if you purchase out right. I am worried we will get the short end of the stick when it comes to flights. But then again, I am a worrier like that hehe.

I re booked the flight, so we will see if they stay the same. Did you know when you purchase plane tickets, you aren't guaranteed to sit next to each other unless you pay more to have side by side seats? B/c the flight was canceled they sat us next to each other on the way out ( being nice I guess), but on the way in next Monday, we are 6 seats away from each other. That's crazy.

Someone should be nice and switch seats with one of y'all. I went two summer in a row to NYC and loved it. If you get a chance go hang out in Greenwich Village, great people watching. Little Italy is fun like many have said. Honestly, I would avoid Times Square, it's a nightmare, I stayed for about 20 minutes the first time I went and didn't go at all the second.

FF will have his red BGP.com Football, long sleeve shirt on. Keep an eye out for him in Good Morning America, Thursday morning between 7am-9am. Off to bed to get ready to fly in the morning.
