Impressive loss, if there is such a thing.

 

It sounds like Duncanville is loaded with talent, but you'll have a hard time convincing me that Oak Hill Academy is not the #1 HS team in the year every year.

Not in the nation, but I strongly believe they can play with anybody in the state this year. :thumb:

I was pretty surpised to see Scott Co. lose this game down the stretch. They outplayed Duncanville until the last 3 or 4 minutes of the ball game. It was kind of odd that Duncanville didn't get going until 2 of their starters fouled out. Anyways this team should have a great year. I thought Jackson and Guyn was both much better players than Dowell who is going to Oklahoma St.

What game did you watch? The one I watched, SC couldn't beat the pressure that Duncanville applied when they doubled Jackson and denied him the ball. So, perhaps the rest of the team should step up their ability to handle pressure, cause Chad was the only one who could.

 

You know what's funny, we can gripe, complain, whine and moan about this SC team and some can claim foul on how they all ended up together out there, and we can all have our own version of "homegrown" when the fact is that few if any teams are truly "homegrown" in this state. And if posters could take off their homer glasses for their own teams or quit pushing the agendas of their own kids, we could step back and realize the the gap between SC and the rest is sizeable. Not to say that SC can't be beaten, because they can and likely will somewhere down the road here in KY, I think it's fairly clear that they are heads and shoulders above the next tier of teams here in the commonwealth.

Plenty of time to "prove" it. I always like Fan11th commitment to proof and not hype.

They haven't picked up anyone new since this summer have they. From what I saw Jtown is not that much below SC as you describe. Jtown played right with them and should have beaten SC. There may be others in the 7th that can compete as well.

Looks like a great test to prepared SC for their schedule coming up. I can't wait for the Holmes game just to see how comprable Holmes is to National competition

I believe he had 6 from the article I read. That's 17 in the first two games...

I thought both teams looked very sloppy and undisciplined. An announcer during the game stated his feeling about having a shot clock in high school. I think if you put a shot clock of 15 seconds in this game without the teams knowing it might have went off 3 or 4 times. It was one pass and jack for both teams. Sure they both have ridiculous talent, especially duncanville, but neither seemed to play team ball at all. When Shawn Williams (signed with Texas) and Perry Jones (5-star to Baylor) fouled out Duncanville looked way better. This left Roger Franklin (Oklahoma St.) and role players to take over. With one star player in and the rest role players they played like a team and that was when it was over for Scott County.

I think that there's a marked gap between SC and the next 3 or 4 teams. I do think there are several who not only can "compete" but can beat SC as I have stated 3 times now. I think that the showing against Duncanville was solid. Nothing that I watched changed my opinion. However, I totally agree that there are teams that can beat SC.

I agree that there are teams who can compete with and beat SC, but the question is will they? Holmes, Jtown, Manual, GRC and Elliot Co IMO are all talented enough to knock off the Cards. Each presents strengths that could give SC problems. Holmes, GRC, and J'town all have size and are athletic enough to run with SC. Manual and Elliot Co both have sharp shooters that can light up the scoreboard.

 

IMO though, it's going to take a good shooting team to beat SC that also has a few tall players that can play both inside and out like Euton and Phares. We'll know a lot more about SC over the next week and a half. They play Tates Creek Tues, Holmes Sun, Dunbar Tues, and then GRC Thurs.

Why would you make a post like this and not mention Bryan Station. Obviously they should be considered considering they beat Holmes.
