January 21, 200917 yr Are there any new updates on what teams will be entering the 7th grade tournament next month in Lexington? As of today, there are over 50 team registered for the 7th grade state tournament at the KBA. They wil be having games on Friday with this many teams. I can't wait!!:thumb:
January 22, 200917 yr Fleming Co. 7th grade gets the win this evening over Harrison Co. This win moves Fleming to 21-0 on the year. The final score ended up 42-29. Harrison actually had Fleming down at the half. Harrison has a couple of nice players in the smaller pg and the big boy down low. They shot the ball well but had trouble with the pressure d once Fleming got rolling.

Keep fresh legs in the game.
January 22, 200917 yr I agree. That could hurt them in the long run. The kids are well conditioned but you can definitely see a little fatigue at times. It's shocking to me that they don't at the least use a 6 or 7 man (boy) rotation, and just give the starters a minute of rest here or there. Once again I have to give Harrison Co. credit though. In the first half they hit everything they shot and the zone they played slowed Fleming down a bit.

Are teams some how seeded? Or is just in alphabetical order?

January 22, 200917 yr It is a blind draw. The KBA will post the brackets on their web site. Any idea when they will post the schedule for 7th grade (or the registered teams)?
January 22, 200917 yr I know Johnson County and Hazard have entered. I have not heard from anyone else.

January 26, 200917 yr Author Some new teams to watch, Walton with their dynamic backcourt, Moss with their relentless pressure and athleticism, and Crosby. These 3 could all be playing late Sunday. Scott County, Meece, LTMS, Lincoln, and Johnson County should also be very good. Look for the winner to come out of this group of 8.

Johnson County is enormous and athletic. IMO, that team is a front runner. Walton's will need production from their bigs to advance deep into Sunday, in a zero post offense they are like fish out of water. Scott will be solid with Portwood. Lincoln and Meece also very solid. If pool play game is a blind draw there could be some good teams playing each other early.
