Top 10 7th grade teams in the state!

Featured Replies

We have already identified Walton as the clear favorite due to their dominance of northern Kentucky but the real team to beat is LTMS or Scott County. Walton, Johnson Central, Clinton County, Wayne County, and Meece are just a few of the other teams that will be strong.

1. LTMS

2. Scott County

3. Walton... because you said so!

4. Johnson Central

5. Clinton County

6. Wayne County

7. Meece

8. Lincoln Co.

9. Sayre... Green has transfered to LTMS

10. Moss (Warren Central).. might be top 5

You might want to throw Two Rivers (Holmes) in there...:thumb:

Rose Hill's 7th grade is solid.

Have Two Rivers and Walton played? Do any of the northern Kentucky teams play anyone besides each other? Scott County?

Didn't Clinton Co. beat Johnson Central in the final four last year? Why would you put them ahead of Clinton this year? Just curious.

Most 7th and 8th grade NKY teams play conference games only with the exception of a few non-league games with other county schools. I dont think they would play anybody out of their region unless it was a tournament.

Corbin has a pretty good team also. They only lost one game last year and that was to Meece by 4 (I think) at Meece.

I saw the Christian Co. 6th grade team play last year at the Hoops. They have a solid team also. Some of their players played on the state runner up 7th grade team last year. So the Christian Co. 7th grade team may be one to consider. Hard to say though since we don't get much info from the western side of the state.

They beat one of our six elementary schools. They all combine in 7th grade. Only 3 of those boys who started on the Central Elementary team starts on the 7th grade squad.

No way Walton Verona is top 5. I can promise you that.

Johnson Central sound impessive. Good luck this season. I look forward to seeing you play at the KBA state. Keep us posted on your progress this season.

I just dont know how well they will do together. ALot of them play 8th grade also and they wont get to play much together as a unit. Hopefully they will get going well. I think they are like 5-0 right now.

How can you promise that? I've seen them play and they are GOOD.

Why all the negative talk about Walton-Verona? Because some kid got on BGP and started some dumb thread about their 7th grade team? Surely we can figure out a legitimate post when we see one. Walton's 7th grade team is extremely talented and no, they haven't lost a game yet this year however, who knows if there a top 10 team. They have some good games coming up on their schedule which should give them an indication of how good they really are.

As far as Johnson Central goes, maybe they'll find out later in the year whether WV is a top 5 team or not. Maybe they'll meet in a tournament somewhere. AH seems pretty confident that they aren't.

Walton does have a good 7th grade team (I've seen them play several times) but I question their strenght of schedule. Historically, Walton doesn't get in any of the high profile tournaments and I don't know if they will do so this year. It would be nice to see them get in some of these tournaments against some of the better teams throughout the state to see how they really stack up.

I have seen Walton's guards play several times on different teams and they can play! (assumming McNeil and Moeves) Walton should be a top 10 7th grade team if they have any post presence whatsoever. Johnson Central will be very good, they won the DII AAU state but they have added even more players and a new system so chemistry will determine alot about their success. Shane Hall is one of the better 7th graders in the state.
