Watched the first few minutes of it then had to head out for day 2 of my flag football tournament. Looks like I didnt miss anything.

I turned down free box seats today, but I had a big day on Saturday and was really tired.

Wow, I think everyone had tickets today. I had two offered to me, but I turned them down. Seeing a team that I dont like and sitting watching them with my girl friend who doesn't know the difference between offense and defense would have been pointless.

My buddy works in the Pro Shop at the stadium and he said it was the worst day (on a game day) as far as sales go since he has worked there

Its pretty sad. I saw a guy at my son's basketball game last night with a really nice Bengals sweatshirt on and I laughed at him. Isnt that sad that we are at the point of laughing at people because they wear Bengals gear? I actually have a ton of gear in my closet and have a hard time putting it on. To be honest, I only wear it if I am working in the yard or staying around the crib. If I go out somewhere I make it a point of changing. Mike Brown should be so proud of his brand.

By the 4th quarter there were less that 1,000 fans there.

 

Also yesterday was the first game since 05 that they didn't make an announcement about the game being sold out.

 

Mike Brown needs to be fired or this team will continue to spiral down with what once was a promising offense. Until he starts putting up the money to keep key players here, you'll never see the Bengals be a successful team.

This is where Brown's business plan is (sort of) genius. Obviously, he needed to retain high-scoring, big-name merchandise guys like TJ, 85, and Carson to keep the fans buying tickets and jerseys. However, as long as the team is competing, they don't care whether or not we have a GM and/or personnel department.

 

Problems come when injuries hit. This team has 0 depth at all. Look at the difference between Matt Cassel and Ryan Fitzgerald. Tom Brady has never been hurt before this year and his backup was probably the least of the Patriot's concern. Carson Palmer has had major knee surgery, so theoretically the Bengals should have a backup plan. If we had any kind of scouting department, we would have at least had someone servicable behind Palmer. Heck, at least we could have picked a guy from a big name college (like Cassell) so that someone scouted him at some point, as opposed to Fitzgerald who went to the football cradle of talent, Harvard.

 

So Brown can cut costs at the personnel level, but keep jersey sales and ticket revenue high just by keeping the big names. Works out great for the short run. Now we will see what happens.

Just curious as to who fires Mike Brown?? Unless there is a resurrection, I don't think that person exists..

We gave away our tickets, I was offered club seats and turned them down as well. Tried to watch the game and turned it off about 5 minutes into the second half. It's really hard to watch. I think it is starting to take a physical toll on me at this point.

I find it incredulous that Brown never has anything to say in the media anymore these days. You think he'd be trying to put out some type of positive spin - things are going to get better, we're going to make changes, we know people are frustrated, blah, blah, blah. But at the end of the day, he makes money off this sorry team and winning/losing/fan frsutration means nothing to him.

No need to speak. The direct deposits into his and his family member accounts dont change. Tickets are sold and apparel keeps moving with the big names. He will be a very rich man for a very long time unfortunately.

 

There are certain rich people that I would love to see suffer through poverty for a period of 12 months and Mike Brown is probably on the short list.
