It depends on the year. French was fun(though I didn't learn anything).

 

PE is where I learned how to play Euchre which was the probably most useful thing I learned in high school.

 

I had a blast on yeabook staff, being one of three photographers means you get in just about every other picture in the year book. We had fun with it, it was myself and a friend that all we had in common really was year book but we made it fun. Eventually our yearbook became a version of where's waldo, with us replacing waldo, even if we weren't in the picture,.... we were.

 

Lastly I'd have to say a business class I took, don't remember much about it other than talking sports, and "Operation Happymeal", some GREAT stories from that class

Journalism. What did we do? Nothing.

Biology-Because the teacher was hot.

 

Only had a couple hot teacher throughout high school, one was an a substitute that we had frequently, she was Italian.... Oh bot was she hot.

 

The other was an English teacher, I think the only teacher I ever made blush in class, but she was married(didn't find that out til afterwards), needless to say if I'd met her husband before that incident I'm pretty sure I never would've opened my mouth in class. Great guy(or so he seemed), but also a way bigger fella than myself as a junior, and probably still today.

Biology-Because the teacher was hot.

Like RM, I loved my French classes and in every normal situation they would have been my favorites. But my favorite class was my AP English class. I had the same teacher for honors my JR year and I didn't try at all, because of this, I got a "mercy C". Senior year, she had other things in mind. Instead of being my wrestling coach's teacher aid, I was forced to be her teacher aid. I have never been challenged so much in my entire life. But, in the end it was rewarding, I had the only distinguished portfolio in my entire school that year. In class, we read a TON of books and had lofty discussions every day (in class and with each other during teacher aid time). Besides my family, she remains the biggest influence on my life, and I can't thank her enough for opening my eyes to the world. She has won numerous awards and deserved every one of them. I really enjoyed high school and had a lot of classes that were great, but her AP English class was on a whole other level than the others.

History in 10th grade; because of the teacher. A class I took as a jr. or sr. called "Language and Human Behavior". Zoology, physics.

 

I was fortunate in that the combination of high school class work and native intelligence:D prepared me so well that the first couple of years of college seemed almost remedial. For example, I tested out of (and this was in the early 1970s; I don't recall that there was even such a thing as AP back then) Comp I and Comp II as a college freshman, and was instead permitted to take "Comp III", which was really just a creative writing class.

I loved Chemistry and U.S. History. I also loved woodshop, electronics, and a semester English class I took in Poetry.

Art and Drivers Ed.

Middle School - PE (Dodge Ball) I was the best at The 5 D's of Dodge Ball (Dodge,Duck,Dip,Dive,& Dodge)

 

For High School - Study Hall

 

For College - Bowling and Archery (my only A+ in College)

Business Law, Business Management. Business Math - (these three mostly bc I had the same teacher for all three classes plus another class in my Senior year. My Senior year I had him as a teacher for 3 of the 6 classes that I had that year.

 

Biology

 

Drivers Ed. - We mostly got out and ran errands that the teacher had to do.

 

Family Living - This class was suprisingly fun (especially when we baked a cake and my partner and I both thought that the other had added the sugar.....cake with no sugar and the teacher was the taste tester :eek:). Like Stick said earlier this class was very helpful for later in life.

 

Study Hall - Mostly my senior year study all and this was the last time slot of the school day. Our teacher was the golf coach and the school was not air conditioned at the time and by the afternoon the school could get unbearable in hot weather. I played on the golf team and on the days that we had a Golf meet after school and it was very hot he would tell me to go in the coaches office where it was air conditioned and kick back.

Dodge Ball :ylsuper:!!! How could I forget one of the greatest games ever invented! :lol: I may still have scars/burn marks from taking hits in Phys. Ed. Doge Ball. That is basically all we ever did.

History and government.

Frosh-Algebra IB: Teacher was convinced class should be taught by playing euchre.

Soph-English II: I was able to catch up my sports reading.

Junior-Bank: I didn't do anything

Senior-Bank Management and Economics: Still didn't do anything (BM) and had one of the coolest teachers ever in Coach Sorrell (Econ.)

The high school I attended (graduated 1973) was fairly large. Grades 10-12 only, graduating class of 649. The year I started the 11th grade, the school completely changed its curriculum. The course catalog that year was 40-50 pages. Many of the expanded offerings were in English, and were semester courses. My jr. and sr. year I took Language and Human Behavior (a persuasive writing class), Mythology, Acting Arts and a class on Bill Shakes. I have no idea how long the school kept with this system.

 

Gym classes were 9 weeks long. I always took football, wrestling, gymnastics, and track.
