Favorite Card Games

Featured Replies

Love poker play it a ton. Love Euchre too I learned how to play it in College when I played football. We used to always hang around the locker room before an after practice playing. On road games we would sit in the back of the bus and play it the whole way there and back.

I've heard of Euchre but have no idea how to play it.

By all the posts, it seems to be very popular.

My son taught us how to play a game called Maui last year. Pretty bizzare card game, but very fun.

Liar's Poker is a blast. One of my other favorite poker games is "Lucky Two's and Seven's."

Euchre

Poker

Circle of Death is for HS kids Rocket. :D Step up to some slam me down suits or connections.

Razz

7 Card Stud Hi/Low

We already have the board games thread. So what are your favorite card games.

Rook - This is the standard game we play with the family. I absolutely love it. I have probably played every version imaginable and they are all a good game.

Rook!!! Like you, I've probably played every version, I like some better than others, but I love to play Rook no matter the version.

Rook is a classic.

Gin

Cribbage

Euchre

Cut Throat Hearts should be the measure of a male's manhood. There is nothing like it when 4 good players play! I have a group of friends that would miss their wedding for a good Hearts game. Like many of you, I enjoy Euchre very much also. I have both Euchre and Hearts on my computer for practice!!

Drunk Driver

Irish Poker

Kings

Connections

euchre

 As you can see most of my card playing involves drinking of some sort....

Bridge (but I'm rusty)

Euchre (like Bridge, but without "thinking" involved)

Hearts

Cribbage

Gin

It is an Ohio/NKY game and since this board has a strong NKY lean I expected it would be highly popular on here,

Crazy 8's

Almost every single one of them I don't get to play anymore. No one I know likes Euchre, and therefore has no idea how to play. Never can find enough players for Rook, Hearts, or Spades. Crazy 8's is a sentimental one. I used to play that all the time with my father. We had an epic series once, spanning months. We played a best of seven. Every time you won that, you got a point in the next column, also a best of seven. Every time you won that, you got a point in the next column, also a best of seven, etc. This sheet had five columns. It took forever!

Also, do you guys play Rook with the Red 1?

Like I said, I've played probably every version possible, but the version I generally play is with the red one.

Euchre is my all time favorite.

I've played countless hours of spades, rook, hand+foot, poker, black jack, guts:), 3 card poker, gin, I could go on and on. I haven't played cards in a long time but for some reason I've always been really good at cards. I can't tell you how many hours we spent playing cards my 1st couple of years of college in the dorms. Great memories!
