November 24, 200817 yr Isn't this the worst of the 3?? I submit that it is. 1. No presents 2. No cool costumes or trick or treating 3. Football games usually awful 4. Turkey usually dry, and meal in general is overrated 5. Not allowed to say "Indian" anymore. 6. If you have a son playing on a football team that is still alive in the playoffs, practices completely destroy your holiday plans.
November 24, 200817 yr Christmas has always been number one for me with Thanksgiving and Halloween pretty dead even. Halloween became dead to me after I quit trick or treating. Thanksgiving was my number 2 then. Halloween made a quick comeback in my later teens when the girls started dressing up as nurses, cops and all kinds of other fun stuff:fire: So for myself, I agree with you :thumb: 1. Christmas 2. Halloween 3. Thanksgiving
November 24, 200817 yr Thanksgiving means a lot more to mean than just football and turkey, so yes, I'll still take it, and be very THANKFUL for it.

If you have a son playing on a football team that is still alive in the playoffs, practices completely destroy your holiday plans. 1. True no presents unless you're not able to come in for Christmas then you get them early...Not me though.. 2. True no costumes, be kinda weird to see a hott girl dressed up in a "sexy turkey" outfit or something..However it me be intriguing to see a hott girl dressed up in a "sext pilgrim" or "sexy Indian" outfit.. 3. They have gotten worse as time as went on. 4. We never have dry turkey, and our thanksgiving meal is usually always good. 5. Why can't I say Indian on Thanksgiving? 6. Don't have kids.. Overall I like Thanksgiving and it's like Halloween but nothing compares to Christmas!

Do you get two paid days off for Halloween followed by two more days off because of the weekend? That alone is enoughto trump Halloween for me.
November 24, 200817 yr Author Do you get two paid days off for Halloween followed by two more days off because of the weekend? That alone is enoughto trump Halloween for me. I'm a self-employed CPA firm owner. I don't get any paid holidays.:irked::cry::cry:
November 24, 200817 yr I really like Thanksgiving. I get to see all of my family, and as weird as they are, I rather enjoy them.
November 24, 200817 yr I love the food from Thanksgiving. My grandma makes the most amazing mashed potatoes.
November 24, 200817 yr I totally disagree TTC. I love Thanksgiving. No costumes, no shopping, no pressure. Just good food, friends and family.
November 24, 200817 yr Author Apparently, I'm the only bitter one on here who is taking out my frustrations on T-giving because I can't leave town to visit my family due to my son's football practice.:irked:

Every Thanksgiving morning the parents watch a freezing practice with hot chocolate, coffee and doughnuts. It wouldnt be Thanksgiving at our house without a discussion of the upcoming playoff game. You need to find someone who can REALLY cook a turkey! You CAN say Indian in the privacy of your own home!:sssh: And.......sometimes it is nice to have a small holiday without all the family hysteria! Lastly, as you know, your son will be grown before you know it and you will miss the playoffs!
