Greenup County Football Coach

Put the word out at Mason County last night and garnered some interest. I have also spread the word all over Lexington and Northern Kentucky and had some very positive feedback in those areas. Any one have some good contacts in the southeast and western part of the state of Kentucky? It is also being spread all up and down the river on the Ohio side and I also have the KHSAA spreading the word for us too to quality coaches both head and assistants from top programs in the state.

You would be surprised how many folks still don't know we are actively searching for a good pool of applicants...

I am also glad to see the excitement and support for Greenup County Football. Let's keep the enthusiasim building and we can really make some positive changes!

As an outsider to your program I will say that I am glad to see the interest back at GC as well. I wish you the best of luck (except when you play Raceland :sssh: :D). I have plenty of GC friends and I hope you do well. Who would have thought a thread on a GC football coach would have went to 9 pages! This shows that the interest is there. :thumb:

Here is the field turf we are looking at for GCHS: http://www.fieldturf.com/.

So you coaches that are interested and reading this thread, you got some folks that are going to do whatever you need to help with the program.

How much will this cost and how will GCHS afford this.

I will tell you exactly what every AD that I have spoken to that has done this, they have said that we can not NOT afford to do it...

The estimate given to us was $400,000.

Tates Creek did the field 5 years ago for 1.7 million and have doubled thier investment according to the AD there through saved maintenance costs and rentals on the field.

Just checked out this site and you are right the savings on the water bill alone would be fantastic! Not to mention the cost of reworking the sprinklers and the other maintenance costs! I hope the BOE will recognize the benefit of this type of field, the fantastic moral builder it would be for our boys and the High School in general.

We tell our community-at-large the value we place on our football program each time they visit GCHS and see the poor condition of our field and facilities.

This is awesome, when I first got on BGP, there wasnt very many Muskie fans on here.

Again, where will the money come from, when the paper said that 4% funding will be cut from the school system, freezing spending, etc.

We will find it, if you want something bad enough and it is going to make a positive difference in the community we can make it happen.

You see alot of Greenup, Russell and Raceland fans on here. Shows they love their team and the love has been spreading to each others team as well.

You're right, we all love our respective teams, but I think we all want the area teams to do well too. I think a lot of the animosity is perceived, more then real.
