Every top seed played the bottom seed tonight, of course Heath is not a powerhouse. Which top seed in 2A or any other class played a powerhouse???

Like the score indicates this was a complete mismatch. The Falcons scored 57 points in the first half and played the JV the entire second with a running clock. Antonio Andrews had 5 rushes for 104 yards and 2 TDs and was 5 of 6 through the air for 142 yards and three TDs, all in the first half. Chris Allen had 95 yards receiving and 2 TDs while Troy Turner, Ervin, and Powell, each had a TD in the first half. T.J. Tucker, the JV running back had 2 additional TDs in the second half. Have to give a pat on the back to Lassiter the kicker; he was 8 of 8 on extra points and considering the whether conditions that was no simple task. The Falcon defense played great, allowing only 15 yards in the first half. Both of Heath’s TDs came in the second half against the JV.

 

I also have give credit to Heath for never giving up and especially #2 Jacob Lynn who is normally their RB, but played QB in the first half because of injury to their starter. Lynn came out of the game twice after getting banged up, but kept coming back into the game and never quit. Even though they were down significantly the entire game Heath showed excellent sportsmanship and heart and never gave up.

Actually I think they came out a little early if the starters didn't play the entire second half.

Antonio Andrews only had 3 carries, 2 for TD's, totalling 101 yards. His 9 plays resulted in a total of 250 yards and 5 TD's, all in the first half. Another amazing stat, he was never tackled on the night.

Antonio is going to surprise everybody in the playoffs. He was so disappointed that he didn't get to play against Franklin-Simpson that he went wild Friday night. The scary thing about him is he will be back next year even bigger, faster and more experienced. He will be in the mix for Mr. Kentucky Football next season.

If you score 57 pts in the first half, then 70 is fair. I have no problem with scoring as much as you can in the 1st half. It's the other team's responsibility to stop them.

Heath's mascot is the Pirates.

 

Most of McCracken County is wet, East of the Clark's River is dry, don't know about West Paducah.

 

Heath did win a state title in Class A, 1986.

 

When Ft. Campbell and Heath were both in Class A they had some GREAT games during the 80's. It is too bad that Mayfield was "playing up" in AA at the time as that would have made things even more interesting.

 

Ft. Campbell moved up to AA in the late 80's into district with Mayfield. Don't know if the series continued with Heath after the move.

Actually, all three teams were in 2A in the late 70s and early 80s. Fort Campbell won the state title in 1979 despite losing a district game to Heath ... the Pirates lost to Mayfield late in the year (stopped inside the 10 late) and dropped into a three-way tie for first. Fort Campbell won the tiebreaker and rolled to the state title.

Fort Campbell moved to 2A in the late 70s ... Heath went back to Class A in the early 80s. Heath and Fort Campbell were still playing each other in the early 90s.
