A little searching and you can find out that there are a lot of positives happening in Iraq that you never hear about. The key is what will happen with Iran when we pull out.

If I'm not mistaken this is the third time he's been to the Middle East with the marines. Once during the first gulf war and twice this time around.

Chicago is an American city and has a population of nearly 3 million people (nearly 10 million metro). Like any large urban area, violent crime is an unfortunate reality. The death count in Iraq has gone down. The murder rate in Chicago is soaring. The president didn't send men into Chicago to find WMD or free the people. The more relational argument, if you must, would be to ask how many police officers are killed in Chicago in a month. Because in essence, that is what our American men and women are in Iraq - police officers. A discussion on the deaths of young people in Chicago would seem to fit better on the general discussion board, but since this is PandR the men and women dying in Iraq are doing so as part of a POLICY put forth by the pres. and now opposed by most people in the US.
