Nope Fort Campbell is still the king untill somebody in 2A beats them. Andrews (qb) is also their leading rusher and will be back a full strength for the playoffs. Still surprise they lost but different team when Andrews is playing.

That whole favored to win thing didn't work out too well for the 'Breds last year. FC will be at Papa John's; a meaningless game that is lost while their best player is reserved for the playoffs doesn't change anything.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see my man. One big difference this year though...Kelly and Kues are both a year older, stronger, bigger, and faster. Hopefully both teams make it to the championship to force a rematch from last year. :thumb:

I was shocked when I logged in this morning to listen to the game. I texted with my wife after the game and she says that Luke (Reynolds) feels that it's all his fault. I hate for him to think that way. I know it's a different ball game when Andrews is not in there, but it's a team sport.

 

At any rate, I think that things will be better next week and they'll get right back into Papa John's stadium for the big game and inevitable rematch with NCC.

I agree that they win as a team and they loose as a team. Yes the offense is not the same with Antonio out, but considering this was Luke’s first varsity start, he did a pretty good job. He came out and drove down the field on the first possession to score, had several good scrambles, and kept his poise throughout the game, even when mistakes were made. Like Coach Berner said, the decision to hold Antonio out was his and his alone. The Coaches, team, and fans are behind Luke, Antonio, and anyone else that might start at QB so to place the blame on a Sophmore QB starting his first varsity game against a 4A ranked team isn’t going to happen at Ft Campbell, at least not by anyone I know of.

 

This game might have been a loss in the books, but if it gets Antonio healthy for the playoffs and Luke some good experience, I think it will be a distant memory when the Falcons are still playing in December.

 

Franklin-Simpson played a good game and deserves full credit for beating the Falcons and congratulations to them.

They have not yet beaten a team with a winning record and the combined record of the teams they have beaten this year is 30 and 60. So, we should just wait until they have proven themselves before we declare them state champs.

Ft. Campbell will be in L'ville when it counts. FS maybe better than some people think.

Actually, Mayfield, PT, Warren East, Owensboro Catholic, and Trigg were all ranked when Ft. Campbell played them.

Maybe the loss will help them re-focus for the playoffs, especially with Newport Catholic likely to jump into the top spot like last year.

I listened to the entire game (FC/FS) last night, announcers seemed to think that FC played fairly well and didn't seem to miss their QB much. F-S was ranked #4 in 4A so I wouldn't consider this an upset. I can't understand why some call it an upset..........
