I listened to the entire game (FC/FS) last night, announcers seemed to think that FC played fairly well and didn't seem to miss their QB much. F-S was ranked #4 in 4A so I wouldn't consider this an upset. I can't understand why some call it an upset..........

I don't know which game the announcers were reporting, but FC missed their QB, Antonio Andrews. Andrews has 1,178 rushing yards with 18 TDs & 1,1019 passing yards with 13 TDs. He was replaced by a sophomore that had never started a varsity game. The backup made a valiant effort and will one day be a fine QB, but he is not close to being a plug and play replacement for Andrews.

 

I agree with your view on this not being a big upset. F-S is a solid team led by a great QB, Courtney Dalcourt. He has 1,654 yards passing yards with 20 TDs & 964 rushing yards with 13 TDs. He is a bonafide D-1 talent with an offer from Georgia Tech on the table.

 

I was at this game and it was just a great football game, just wish the Falcons would have had their star player on the field. It was definately the kind of challenge FC needed prior to the playoffs. This 2-game series sadly ends this year with FC winning at F-S last year and F-S returning the favor at FC this year.

Maybe the loss is what the Falcons need to regain some focus for the playoffs.

I think it will go a long way in getting the boys refocused. The 22 game winning streak is now history and has been replaced with a slap of reality. Much better to drop the game to F-S then to drop one in the playoffs.

Not sure, but I don't think mexitucky is a Corbin person. I think he can be linked to the 2007 2A runner-up, Newport Central Catholic.:thumb: I don't think you will see many........if any Corbin fans, saying the Redhounds are the favorite. We know where we stand and will take whatever comes in the next 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 games. I, along with others, feel 10-0 is an over-achievement. But then again, this is a special group that might not be as talented as teams in past years. They don't think "their all that" as others have in the past.
