Wow, this was a poor outing by PD. I knew that the D would be seriously tested, but it looks like they didn't even show up!

I blame their O more than their D. Their Defence did make a few stops and forced Boyle to punt a couple of times. For as of the Offence....at the half Dunbar had 0 first downs, was like 1 for 7 passing (4 yards) with 3 interceptions, and 0 yards rushing. Of corse Boyle's defence had alot to do with the poor showing on their O. Boyle scored 22 in the first quarter and 33 in the second quarter to make it 55-0 at the half.

I just don't understand how a team with such good looking athletes and decent size is so bad. This blows my mind.

I was on the sideline and Dunbar quit after their second offensive series.

IMO it all starts at the little league level. As these athletes move thru the system each coaching staff should continue to add to the teaching the athlete recieved at the lower level. When these athletes make it to the big stage coaches like French, Hester, and Mason have to spend less time teaching basic techniques these kids should have been taught at the lower levels. This very evident in the Boyle system. Size matters but technique and skill is far more important.Just my opinion.:thumb:

They were a pretty good football team last year. Coaching is the biggest reason for decline. Little league is good but not the most important factor in sucess. Lots of the smaller County schools don't have little league. I know here in Laurel Co. and in Bell Co. that a lot of the better players don't step foot on a football field until Middle School or High School.

 

Hard to belive Dunbar has fallen so quickly. It has to be one of the better jobs, talent wise in the state.
