November 5, 200817 yr My new bumper sticker. :D "I'll keep my freedom, my guns, and my money, and you can keep THE CHANGE".
November 5, 200817 yr Author I believe he will first change the drapes and then probably hang some new pictures. They could even move some furniture around and maybe even put in a new indoor basketball court. Seriously? He will attempt to change alot of things, but to ask what exactly will he change, not even he knows yet. I will give a prediction though. I do believe he will change some minds of his detractors and that will be a very good sign. I get your point, but there must be one or two things that you really think he's going to change, after all, you're one of his biggest fans.
November 5, 200817 yr So you hope or really believe he will do these things? Thank you for the reply, btw. I'm curious as to what people really think will be changed. I don't ming the question in this thread, no need to move it as far as I'm concerned. I will support him if he does something like promoting off-shore drilling. Heck, I'll support him if he moves to the center on his positions. I can't really predict the future (my lotto tickets always lose, even with "the best" numbers!) and I don't think many can. There are too many variables in the way. I DO however, wholeheartedly believe that he has the best interest of the country in mind and will be a leader for ALL, not just the top democrat. If that means that he has to waiver on his platform, I will support him.
November 5, 200817 yr Wow...ten minutes to answer a question in a sea of 8000 new threads. I thought I was going to be rushed! I hope that his policies will lead to a larger investment in renewable energies. I PRAY that he will do away with or drastically reform No Child Left Behind act. I hope that he will re-establish weakened lines of communication to those countries that are our allies and that he will work to keep peace with those countries that do NOT like us. I hope that he will be able to decrease the number of people that do not have healthcare. I hope that he is able to promote the BEST healthcare for our wounded troops and military veterans. They deserve it! These are some of the highlights, not many details (hard to do that in a ten minute window ). If he can accomplish at least half of this, I will be pleased. Question for the NON-Obama voters (and RTS, if you want me to move this to another thread, I will gladly do so)... There are a multitude of things that you disagree with Obama about. Let's say, for example, that he chooses to promote off-shore drilling. Will you A) support him or B) complain about him flip-flopping? In short, will you support him if he does find it necessary to change from his platform stances? I will support him if he promotes off-shore drilling. If he flips or flops more to the left than advertised then I will not.
November 5, 200817 yr I can't speak for RTS but I know if he changes his policies to align with my beliefs I would support him on an issue by issue basis. :thumb: I can't support that which I fundementally disagree with and I fundamentally disagree with: spreading the wealth bankrupting the coal industry Change of law to get rid of secret ballots for unionization unlimited, unrestricted access to abortion in all forms no further exploration for American sources of oil (offshore and ANWR)

November 5, 200817 yr I get your point, but there must be one or two things that you really think he's going to change, after all, you're one of his biggest fans. I think there will be a plan to remove our troops from Iraq. Also I honestly believe he's going to be able to change the way some other Countries currently view America. I believe he will be respected by other leaders throuout the World. It's going to take time, but IMHO, I see him being one of the best ever. Please note: I said in "my" honest opinion.
November 5, 200817 yr I get your point, but there must be one or two things that you really think he's going to change, after all, you're one of his biggest fans. None of these people have any idea of what his "change" means. That is the tragic part of the whole matter. They really have no idea of what they were supporting. Of course, ignorance is bliss- until reality sets in.

I'm so tired of people doing the right things to go make money then having the government penalize them to give to people that sit around on their lazy rears all day! There are occasions where people can't get jobs but I see it WAY to much around here first hand that people know they have it made so they don't want to work. I'd love to vent about what I saw at the Dr's office today but I don't have time right now.

Wow, lots of enthusiasm anyway.
November 5, 200817 yr I'm hoping that the vast majority of our troops come home, and that we can divert significant resources to other endeavors. I'm hoping that healthcare will be made available to many more Americans. The greatest healthcare system in the world is seriously flawed if 45 million people can't access it. I'm hoping that NCLB gets scrapped or drastically changed. I'm hoping that we end the hopeless war in Iraq. I'm hoping for new/renewable energy technology; including nuclear. I'm hoping not to hear the term "pre-emptive strike" for a while. I'm hoping that the cap on wages subject to FICA/Medicare is removed. I'm hoping that businesses will be incentivized to keep jobs here. I'm guessing that folks in Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania feel the same way. In case I forgot, I hope that we are out of Iraq in a year or two at most.
November 5, 200817 yr None of these people have any idea of what his "change" means. That is the tragic part of the whole matter. They really have no idea of what they were supporting. Of course, ignorance is bliss- until reality sets in. Oh, and I really hope he can somehow change the bigitry that goes on in our great Country. I realize for some it will be a tough task, but again, there's hope.

Of course, ignorance is bliss- until reality sets in. Excuse me? Because some of have views that differ from yours we are somehow "tragically ignorant"? You've ignored countless, repeated posts to our thoughts. To continue to do so, and summarily dismissing them, does not make our thoughts unenlightened.
November 6, 200817 yr None of these people have any idea of what his "change" means. That is the tragic part of the whole matter. They really have no idea of what they were supporting. Of course, ignorance is bliss- until reality sets in. Which people would "these people" be?
November 6, 200817 yr Which people would "these people" be? Call me silly, but I followed the evidence, and I deduce the he means us, mcpapa.
