Chapel Hill does not get 100,000 fans at their home games, and football is not king (yet), but I can't imagine a better place to call home.

 

Butch has had some health issues and I wonder if this would factor into his decision to go into the Knoxville pressure cooker?

Butch left Coral Gables before he finished the job, wouldn't suprise me if he left for UT, he has orange in his blood.

It is unknown how Gruden privately responded, but he publicly shot down his interest, despite the fact that he was once a graduate assistant and met his wife, Cindy, a former cheerleader, at the school. Additionally, Gruden does own parcels of land in the Knoxville, Tenn., area.

I have heard that Mark Dantonio was who Tenn. was after. Not sure if he fits the SEC but he is a good coach. I guess that Saban guy has done OK in the SEC since coming over from Mich. St. Tenn. thought they might give it try.

I've heard those rumblings, but don't buy it one bit. He's a Big 11 guy to the core, and his style of play would get him fired pretty quickly at UT.

 

I was told Gruden was the top target from day 1, and still think that's how this one ends...

I dont know if it means anything, but I saw on HBO's NFL show before Fulmer got the ax that Gruden may be on the chopping block if he doesnt make the playoffs. He has a good shot at the playoffs but that rumor may not sit well with him. How much is he making in Tampa? Over 4 mil?

I saw where Butch Davis said the other day he wasn't interested. I'm one of the biggest UT fans there are. I think it was time for Phil to go. I'm really anxious to see who they are going to get. They aren't buying out Phil for 6 million to get a nobody coach.

Personally i think that Lane Kiffin will get the job.
