November 3, 200817 yr [Now there's a thread title that just makes you click on it! ] Okay, so I wander out back onto the deck...bet you can see where this is headed. Went out there with the dog a little while ago to get some fresh air and enjoy the exceptionally warm weather. Happened to glance up into the semi-wind trashed walnut tree that stands in the middle of the the little forest that marks the end of our backyard. Up on a broken off branch, sat a little squirrel. About a foot behind that "tree rat" was yet another. Nothing too odd about that; our trees are always filled with the little nibble-heads. Well, all of a sudden, the latter squirrel approaches the first. They make contact, and I prepare for a battle...or even better, a chase! Instead, the back squirrel grabbed, and started doing something strange to, the front squirrel. I'm not a trained zoologist, but I'm pretty sure they weren't umm, "fighting." :eek: What's this world coming to? You wander out to your own yard, expecting a relaxing moment of communing with nature...and instead you're confronted with blatant rodent sex! :irked: My dog was clearly upset by the whole incident, and I'm not entirely sure how I'm supposed to explain it to her. After the disturbing display finally ended, (typical of these irresponsible little creatures) the squirrel who instigated the encounter casually wandered off as if nothing ever happened...leaving his girl out on a limb. Now I can't be sure, but would almost swear I saw a little puff of smoke from the tree branches. I ask you; have the forest creatures no shame!! :madman:

Believe it or not male DUCKS can be quite vicious when they are in the mood.:eek:

November 3, 200817 yr HUMMM.....Well, I did not know that slugs would do the same thing...GROSS!! About a week ago I was taking Molly out for her nice little midnight walk and what do you think we saw on the side of our house?! I could not make out what it was a first, but, when i got closer, I noticed that it was two slugs doing the slug thing. It was so gross looking that I took a stick and knocked one off onto the grass...the other was left on the house. So, the other started going towards the ground. That is when I got him or her...who cares...on the stick and took it out front. Bet they never find each other again!!!! LOL LOL!
